One thing to remember with blood is that it's pretty thick. In old black and white movies, they sometimes used chocolate syrup pretty convincingly as a special effect for blood. So you should try to capture that thickness when you draw it, with splatters and whatnot, and not soft shading like the pinkish tint on the blade.

If you were stabbed with a sword through the chest, piercing a lung, I don't think anger would be the overwhelming emotion. People are much more fragile than movies suggest.
