:-D Yay! This is a really good start! Here's my opinion.. You had the right idea at the top of the glass. Here's the thing.. don't blur/blend anything out when you are doing metals, shiny, glass, water, etc. If you look at references for such things, and zoom in to notice every color and color change, you will see that most of the colors are just solid lines and shapes of blacks, grays, whites, and hints of other color depending on the reflection of other items that may surround it. Like the base here.. it's really blended in, if you add some solid black/gray, it'll come out looking more like the top. :-)
I'm glad you like to try new things out :-D You inspire me! This looks good.. keep at it!
Well..see..when I use a reference it's never an online picture. This was in a catalog. No zooming in available..I have trouble reproducing what I see there..arrrghgh... this was hard!
Ooooo you are so brave!! I can't use regular pictures for anything :-S lol
Here's some wonderful quality photo sites I use for my references.. You may like to browse around them. Has some great stuff! Getty Images Corbis Masterfile <--My friend just recently showed me that one!
They come in real handy and they are all high quality photos.. not like the yuck ones in Google Images. -__- lol
Thanks Anna.. but if I find a picture to draw online, I have to keep clicking back and forth or I can't see it.. I need to be looking at it when I draw. I can't keep the canvas and the ref open on the screen at the same time.. (its a laptop) so..I use photos when I have a reference.
awww.. :-/ I just usually minimize the screen as much as i can so that it only fits the canvas area (none of the gray surrounding it).. and then do the same with the ref and have 'em side by side. or top and bottom.. depending on the size. You can't do that either on the lap??
I make the picture small and then use the zoom thingie on it.. and shrink the drawing applet to fit beside it. Experiment with it and you might be able to fit it all in so you can see the reference.
Yes, you definitely had the right idea at the top of it...glad to see you trying...you'll never do anything new if you don't try! Way to go! ((((((poppa)))))
I'm glad you drew again! this is good for your first try... you notice I won't try glass or water.. yet...? we can't all be elite bastards... so let's just eat pizza and cookies instead :)
hopes you don't feel wierd havin' me call you poppa sweetie.....ouch! sowwy mon. Hey you did a great job, that is the way I practiced a long time ago, and it worked for me. it looks great, keep it up. :}>
