You probably don't like to hear about it, but since it is a public service announcement, I would like to add something. Two years ago, my freind's older brother, his wife, and their baby were hit by a drunk driver. Only Jennifer, the wife, survived, and just barely. This family is one that I know quite well, and just to think about the pain that it has caused is almost unbearable.

I am not judging or condemning you, sincity, I just wanted to add to this message. My mom has been hit by a drunk driver, but luckily she survived. All those people who don't...well, it sucks. It can hit closer to home than you think. I appreciate the message of this; it is a definitley a viewpoint that you don't see very often.

What's not shown though is that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He had A drink and he wasn't drunk. The officer decided to give him a breathalyzer after he admitted to having an after work drink (singular) only 20 minutes prior.
It doesn't lessen the message. Drinking and driving drunk is not worth losing your freedom over, or killing an innocent. You folks seem to care as I do, and I don't want you to think badly of him as he's not a drunk. The message was about losing your freedom. You could do that stealing a candy bar if the law so chose to take it from you.

I usually don't butt in as I don't draw; just an appreciator of all of your fine works (especially my brother's). Please forgive my intrusion and accept my opology.

It's a whole story in one very awesomely put together picture. The subject and service announcement is a good one. My sister keeps pushing the limits with her drinking and driving.. she keeps swearing to me she won't anymore and then does it again saying "i was fine to drive"... but then again she also claims she wasn't drunk when she almost fell into the firepit standing right infront of me on our birthday last year when I was tellin her she needed to go in and sleep cause she's drunk. Luckily I grabbed her and pulled her back to a standin position, but she still swore she wasn't drunk and she was fine.. Just like when she drives.. she's fine. Everyone who gets in a accident and kills someone swears they thought they were fine. Drinking any alcohol and driving is never a good idea.
One drink probably didn't make ya drunk but that cop probably hears "i just had one drink a half hour ago" all the time. So even though it's the truth this time all he knows is how many times it isn't. They can't trust everyone's word. Sucks that you had to spend those days in jail and all, but ya learned your lesson.. and ya drew this picture.. so good things can come outta bad situations. Glad you're back Mike :)
