Nah, I've seen people do Kanji here before. Did you use layers?(and if you did,did you use them right?) Cause, maybe thats why there are white spots? Good job with the characters too. They look nice.

No, he didn't use layers, because if you zoom in, you can see where he colored in. The red is a different shade of red.
