And I would like you to tell me what you think I can do to improve my style or skill. Don't just say you like my work cause It won't help me Improve If you try to be nice, so don't hold back you can be as mean as you want as long as you think It's helpful. I would also like It if you would tell me of any styles out there that Mite be good for me to use.
Any good criticism will be most Appreciated!!!!!!!!!

study anatomy. cant stress that enough. nobody on here has perfect anatomy 100% of the time. that can almost always be improved. go to fineart.sk if you dont mind nudity. the andrew loomis books are a godsend. look for traditional art tutorials. read art books. do the classics before you get all fancy. sure you can argue that anime is better and anime blah blah blah, but then i'll have to laugh at you. see anime is based off of people which are real. and studying different ways helps you see things with a different perspective and you can incorporate that into your style.

dragon ball z has bad anatomy.

forget anime for a month. do some classic stuff. you'll get better. draw 100 times a day on paper. do some doodles. do some gesture drawings. do some contour drawings. do some black and white art. and study the fricking color wheel!

im sure theres lots of books at the library whereever you live. take a sketchbook and sit down and do some work. it wont come naturally and fall out of the sky. it takes work!

meanwhile if you really really really try hard (i mean really) and come back and show some improvement and want to further your art im always up to beat people into improvement :P

(p.s. theres lots of online tutorials somewhere too. i posted some a while back. go check my forum posts as im too lazy to get that for you.)

Good advice Mazi.. Yes stay away from the animae stuff for a bit, try classical work. Books are great. Well, I'm just repeating what Mazi said so I'll stop. Lots of sketching,.....on paper, not on the site. :}

Damn Derrick. Too bad you just recently spent over 100 bux on manga. LOL Don't ya think you should have posted this a bit sooner?

TaCO (Dec 7, 2004)
I didn't spend that much!!!!! And I bought some copic markers and The 1st 2 venom vols.
I just started looking at manga and comics this year. I usally just draw out of my head until I draw something I like then I build on that. And I use to do alot of realistic stuff, but I like cartoons better. And Iam told I do great portaits, It takes me 10 to 30 mins, but I only did like 34 so far so It's still new to me. And I don't like the dbz manga i just like the db manga.

Thanks for the link. But does anyone see anthing else thats wrong with how I draw.

theres nothing "wrong" with how you draw in a general sense. youre more likey to get criticism on a specific piece of art.

and im telling you now. you learn so much from references. *so* much.

untill you can (re)produce perfect photos by hand in 0.0035 seconds, there'll always be something "wrong" with how you draw. :P

After disabling the content filter (you might encounter disturbing websites though), search google for images of nude, naked, sexy women or girls. Then pick one you like most and start drawing. This way you can learn more about anatomy... No, I am not saying it only for me to watch naked girl drawings from you, honestly! <:)

I have no finals I rule!!!!!!! I had finals when I was at LSUA for graphic design, but they were easy. College always seemed easy to me. But I never took Any Science classes in college and people say they are the hardest classes in college. I left from LSUA to go to UL, but I went to T.H.Harris instead. All I do in class is draw on AUTO CAD2004, I draw maps, houses, parts, and pipes. And I draw 3D stuff too.

As Mazi said, anatomy is hard to get, and nearly impossable to get perfeclty, but practise on that a lot. Portraits are another thing that might help. Getting facial features down, lighting, skin tones, etc. might help a lot. Getting a feel for how the human body is made up so that you can draw it is one of the best ways to get better. As Mazi said, refs help a ton too, because it teaches you the place met for various angles, and you can study off of them so that you get a feeling for pictures in the future. Just a few suggestions, hope them help :)
