Honestly I'm not sure who started the use of the Russian D as a mouth for faces. It's everywhere, though, and I like it, so now I just had to doodle something with the face. Pretty simple.

It's a common symbol used as ASCII-character's mouth in Japanese forums. They are somewhat of mascots at those message boards. Usually these comic characters are used to snappily comment to a stupid post.
