Seems like your portraits always face straight forward and are right in the middle of the canvas, which makes them feel pretty flat. Try a different angle, and offsetting the portrait from the center of the picture some to give it tension and activity.

edit: My criticism is clearly unwelcome, although I meant no ill feelings by it. So be it. I'll not offer you any more.

She looks like she is going to be a beautiful girl... I cannot wait for you to give her eyes and soul... Mmmm... her hair is very beautiful! I love long hair! >:)

eff off, zack. thanks xod :) and evil... I have to get more space for this in order to finish it..... and when I do, just to appease zack (ie to make him piss off) I'll move the face to the top right hand corner of the canvas and fill in some more of her body. how does that sound? >:P

bump: ahem. let's be slightly nice. zack makes a good point, and one shouldn't be afraid to try new things, that's the best way to learn, even if you don't succeed the first few times.
