You've taken using the same size round brush and made it into a new style I haven't really seen in traditional mediums, because you choose not to have a dynamic brush stroke. To get a similar effect with paint, it seems like you'd have to use some kind of flat-topped brush. Necessity breeds innovation, perhaps.
