I'm just curious, seeing as this is the first time it's happened to me. I was unaware that you were not allowed to post works in progress to the boards, but evidently, this is true, even though I have seen others post from beginning to end of pic.
Just got a point deduction, and the comment from mod, "this is what unfinished hidden is for", because I had to save preliminary sketch, as group came into the restaurant. I did save it as unfinished, and with a message, because I have been absent for so long.
So, is this a rule...dont post anything unfinished to user board...or is there some sort of etiquette that I broke by saving my preliminary sketch as unhidden? What is the point where you are allowed to post something as unfinished, is there some sort of guideline that I've missed? Did I just catch a mod in a bad mood, or what?

You can save a preliminary sketch to your user board, just make sure it's unfinished hidden. It's just the sensible thing to do. What point is there to posting an incomplete picture onto the public board? Unfinished hidden allows you to take breaks without people seeing the unfinished version of your picture.

lots of people post incomplete pictures all the time. whats the unfinished button for then?
i like posting stuff before im totally complete so i can receive tips and ideas. i also like posting before a piece is complete so users can say "OMG, this is looking so spiffy so far...hurry up and finish!"
even a mod might have said that once or twice on an unfinished picture *gasp*..whats the biggie?

The point for me was to save the sketch while I had to stop to work, as well as to say hi to folks, since I have been absent for a while. Does both at once, and lets 'em see I'm actually drawing again.
If theres no point to posting an incomplete picture, then that option should not be available at all

A long while back...
First, on a matter of using 2draw: Post as unfinished hidden! We don't care if you have to leave (suspiciously 5 minutes after you started drawing), or only spent 5 minutes on it, provided we don't have to see it.

If you post as unfinished hidden, only you can see the drawing (by clicking on your studio at the top of any page on 2draw). And moderators can't delete what they don't see. This also works for collaborations, so you don't need to post as visible for collaborators to access the drawing (it will be in their studios as well).

As an added incentive, moderators may at times change something from unfinished to hidden. Although you'll lose points in the process, you won't lose your drawing, and still have time to bring it up to snuff. Plus it's a lot fewer points than if the picture is deleted.

Unfinished hidden is for really rough sketches/blueprints. Of course, you can set it as unfinished if you need help or tips. It's not that big of a deal.

LOL....so I guess there is a rule. You have my profoundest apologies for offending your eyes.
Heres the deal;most folks here have been here a lot longer than I, and as your post says, armando, "a long while back". If I'd known, I wouldn't have posted it. As you said, I didn't think it was any big deal. I am a partner in, and manage a restaurant. Means I spend 14 to 16 hours a day here, and I leave my laptop on, draw when I can. Pretty much most of the time, I come back, and have lagged out from my draw, left on 2draw as a guest, so I have to re-log, and at times, my draws are lost. I have no prob using the unfinished/hidden, I have one, just for Zack, there right now. Also two where I have 50 k left to do at least 400k work in, so I leave those until I can sit down and finish in one shot. ANYWAY, I had just thought to save my draw, and say hi at the same time, no biggie. Won't happen again, at least in rough stage.
