I love Lascaux. I've been using it for all my drawings. However, I wanted to learn how to use Shi-Painter as well. I did one little pic on Beginners a while ago but found it extremely hard to blend/shade. I fiddled around and didn't really get anywhere. lol I'd really appreciate any suggestions on how to blend colors on Shi-Painter! Thanks!

I have fiddled around with it a little, Anna. Have you tried using a combination of the watercolor and airbrush?

Yep, I sure did.. but it wasn't mixing my two colors very well :S Maybe I didn't have my opacity low enough? I dunno. I guess I'll keep lookin' around.

I am the opposite of you. I cannot understand how to shade smoothly on Lascaux, I haven't had the patience to learn. But I <3 to shade on Shi-Painter, it is almost too easy.
What I usually do is block in my shading with the pen tool, and use the airbrush to blend it in. I find that if I use a medium size brush on regular opacity at first, and then a larger brush with less opacity after that works well. Oh and also I use the right click as a dropper to randomly pick up one shade or the other until it's blended together correctly. I never use the watercolor tool, I dunno why, for some reason I mostly dislike it. Airbrush and pen tool are my best friends ever. *shrug* That's just me though, hopefully that helps. :D |

wow CV that sounds a lot more complex than it probably is. If you wanna shade in Lascaux you just put in the darker or lighter colors you want and blur away until they meld together and poof! shading! ^^

Nope.. it wasn't complex at all. Made perfect sense. :)
