Although many of you were not around, about a year ago or so 2draw had a mascot contest. Unfortunately, basically all we got were furries and random animals that made no sense. ;-)

So, on the topic of "original characters," I thought it would be cool to do this contest again, only with a slight modification.

Contest Theme:
Come up with some original character (cute, cool, evil, your choice) that could eventually be rebuilt into an animated flash character. This requires a certain degree of simplicity, but still needs very distinct characteristics. I highly suggest avoiding furries with horns. Just because, if you ever saw a furry in real life, it would not have horns.

Prize?
Unfortunately, we cannot give any tangible prize with the current (lack of) resources at 2draw. However, we will think of something. The purpose here is to draw with a purpose, not be greedy. ;-)

I will not go into details on the reason for the comment about flash above, however this means your character will need some obvious way to move (either walk, fly, float, crawl) and some way of expressing itself (either facially, or through body).

Yep, that is about it.

Also, feel free to leave the background as a solid color (probably best as something other than white), so it puts full attention on the character.

All entries posted to the theme board will be considered, the contest will end when we (Marcello and/or the other 2draw people involved in promoting the site, etc) decide that there are enough worthwhile entries to be judged. Enter as many times as you like, but please revise your entries until they are top-notch quality. And I guess Marcello's comment means that you don't get a hug if you win, so don't expect one.

i've got three votes for my "little 2draw samurai" i think he is a good mascot.

Mascot theme is still open cause they all suck.

I have an idea for the next theme, how about people doing portraits of themselves? Or just do themes associated with a random word, e.g. coffee, vintage, icon, influence, hair, folds, hands etc.

I've seen some good ones. But anyways, I know you all are in charge of what comes on the theme board, but what if yuo left the mascot contest open, but for now (concurrently) lets start a new theme! I love doing theme board things.
