I saw some comments on a drawing wherein Marcello directed to a spot where he explained the file size issue for Lascaux, but I still have a question. Is there a way to check the file size of the current drawing you are working on (in Lascaux) BEFORE any submissions, possibly somewhere on the applet page?

Unfortunately not, although I could add such a feature, unfortunately it would have no way of knowing the total size, since some of the files (such as thumbnails) are on the server, an the applet doesn't know about them.
Again, the best solution would be to finish the animation format... |

And this would be something we have to, um, say, set your pants on fire to get done? lol. Thanks for responding. I won't waste anymore time looking for something that doesnt exist. :)

I have a question about the file sizes. Do the tools stop working when you reach the stated maximum ? I wonder because on my latest submission..the size seems to be larger than allowed? Are we supposed to monitor the size as we go somehow..and stay under it? ..I dont want to violate the general rules.. How does this work?

This size limitation is to keep the number of edits down.
the fact that tools stop working is a known bug I haven't been able to figure out for however many months now, quick fix is to just reload the page and have the applet reload the image (by hitting the reload/refresh button on toolbar, not anything else). |

actually..the tools didnt seem to stop..my question was how do we keep to the stated size. The last picture seemed to be larger than allowed..and i wondered how I was able to do that?

The way things work is that you are allowed to start editing a picture as long as the current size (including the images for previous edits and such) is below the maximum size. If, during an edit you exceed the maximum size, you are allowed to continue as usual but you will not be able to edit the image again once submitted.
