1. Find out what type you want to use. Basically, there are two types: Frame-by-frame animation, and a weird click-and-grab type.
2. Don't put in too many frames. Literally, watch any popular animator. They run at 2 fps, and have other characters move only every 5 seconds. Haveing it at 20 fps is not only difficult but time-consuming. So choose less time over smoothness if you're only getting started. 3. Ignore colors. Don't worry about adding color. If you try to add color at the beginning, you end up getting lost in the details, and it looks kinda bad. 4. Try Tweening. Tweeening is basically a animation skeleton. Add a start frame and an end frame, than slowly fill it out. (ie foot in one spot, and ends in another) 5. Start basic. Try animation a ball bouncing, or maybe a comic strip you mode, with a few bits of movement. I started animation by making rip off asdf movies, as there very basic to draw and animate. 6.Stick with simple characters. Complex characters suck to animate. Have a little cartoony boi or something. hope this helps! Another thing is animation does take time, and there is no easy-non-time-consuming way to animate, but you can shorten your time of animating if you have a plan. |
