is there a way to "protect" your lineart in shi painter? (for example 'multiply' in lasaux kinda preserves the lineart) It seems like most of the ppl i collab with use it, and i dont wanna miss out cuz i cant use this program. i looked for some way to color without messing up the lineart (and without having to erase around every line), but maybe i was looking in the wrong place...

Well, mostly we start a sketch on the first layer, and lineart over that on the second layer. Then color on the layers below that...*shrug* As far as I know, I don't think we can duplicate a layer. But really, you don't need to.

Well, I'm not sure if this is what you're asking at all, but V.V. said she didn't know whether you could duplicate a layer, and as far as I know you can't, at least not like you can so wonderfully in Lascaux. But I've often used the copy tool and taken a copy of one layer, clicking onto a higher layer, and then clicking on the screen, and that effectively copies from one layer to the next, for me. Hope that helps! ^_^

My suggestion is to be an elitest and only collab on lascaux. That's what I do anyway. Shi painter doesn't have layer blending modes (other than setting overall opacity), so you can't have multiply, dodge, burn, etc. layers. The alternative in shi-painter would be to pray and hope that you don't run into the lineart ghosting bug on shi-painter.
