I am having a great deal of trouble transferring my oil painting, watercolor, etc. and conte crayon and charcoal techniques to software on the computer. I have done so many years of "nonvirtual" reality-based artwork, I realize now I have had a great deal of trouble adapting to the computer art. So I suppose I'm still not good at it. Especially the stupid watercolor. Guess I'm too old to catch on. I'll have to figure out still how to do it. I noticed that other people have. So kill me, I'm old!

"DO NOT HIRE AN OLD HEWLET PACKARD ENGINEER,TO ADVISE YOU ABOUT BUYING A NEW COMPUTER!!"(get some very young, sharp computer repair guy,who is smarter, sharper, and not sloppy, and has not worked in the corporate world for so long,he does not know how to talk to the computer buyer.Hewlett Packard, go f____ yourself!!he never told me,with a 64 bit new comuter,I would have to spend hundreds more on a new dragon naturally speaking software, plus 2 gigs of memory more,to handle the thing. wow. At least,he could have told me this,he advised me to get this computer!!my old one was 11 or twelve years old.If old guys like to f___ young women, I prefer young guys to advise and repair my computers!!get wise, boomers, those young guys are kicking your asses in the computer world!!)sorry, bad craftsmanship by me, on this. well, i am a boomer too.
shults (Jan 23, 2012)
why do you need that program? and much more importantly.. -how is it possible to have a computer for 12 yrs???

Mine last for about 2-4 yrs.. and then I want a new and improved one.. ;)
Flubbles (Jan 23, 2012)
Just like your men aye shults, you change them like it's going out of fashion. But thats not 2-4 (years) we're talking (months and weeks).
shults (edited Jan 24, 2012)
He's bahack! :D

Now you should tease more, I'm probably going to like it for the next 2-4 weeks.
Flubbles (Jan 24, 2012)
I never left, I just dont have enough time like you students to converse on the internet all day. I've been doing other things like shooting people to smithereens on Gta4...etc. I'd talk if there was something to talk about, but it's a bit quiet around here lately. Anyway...gotta go, laters farty pants.
davincipoppalag (Jan 24, 2012)
sounds like the old guy did some fast talking
dorothyblueeyes (Jan 25, 2012)
i know alot of it was my fault, cause i did not upgrade for 11 or twelve years, so when i did, lots of the software no longer worked on newer stuff.

i waited too long to upgrade.it' not his fault, the computer hardware and software moves ahead so fast, if you opt out for a long time, they're going to make you upgrade a lot. so i don't think he could do anything about that; also, the outlook express i like, the new puter will not take. i apologized to him, and took responsibility for waiting so long to upgrade. i often get irritated with computer stuff, if it's frustrating, and i hate "change". yeah, i admit, i loved my old computer, was used to it, like an old doggie. (maybe i should get a real dog,not get fixated so much on machines.)so it was not the repair guy's fault; fault microsoft for moving at the speed of sound! look at GOOGLE, GOD,they think they own the damn world now. no computer repair guy can stop all that fast fast change all the time, they just fix em. once again , i got frustrated, lost my temper, and had to apologize for it. but i never called names, or insulted, just was pissed off for a moment.

he already bought me a new dragon, for only fifty bucks, so he's really a good servicer. he ireally does pretty well. he also fixed my sewing machine , tapedeck in my boombox radio/cd-player, and other electronic things. and, i do love my new 'puter, it's great. i just watched "Hugo" on it, and the picture was beautiful.not many people will do all those electronic repairs now, and guarantee their work. if yer in eugene, oregon, or springfield, i recommend him. gotta give we seniors credit, too! we can still do things!

I admit I only read half your comment, because it's long and hard to follow, but I wanted to encourage you for using the computer in the first place.. my mother won't get near the thing, unless there's an interesting news report and I've opened the page for her.

"what happened, to the Red, white, and Blue?" (only started)
Wraith (Jan 26, 2012)
I disagree Dorthyblueeyes. I have had my computer since 2001. Homebuilt. I have been wanting to upgrade, but I don't see a reason to, unless your a PC gamer. I play Playstation 3 for games, so there is no need for me to upgrade PC. These days, they could care less if you need to upgrade or not. It's all about the Money.
dorothyblueeyes (Jan 26, 2012)
thanks, wraith, for info; I heard, home-built computers are better than new bought ones.just replace every work out part? wow, good job, Also, do you accept new Java programs, for fitting into new art sites, software, ect??..... I had major chasse' parts wear out, have to replace whole thing; every part! gets more expensive than store bought new one. So you just ignore all the extra cost, or, cause you build it yourself, much cheaper? hmm!" good good skills to have! great!

thanks, shults, I am 64 yes, old, but often like younger things, attitudes, and radical opinions more like younger computeRweb-Usess,l ^| hate_ old fashioned, Stale ideas, and l like the web, computers, chat-rooms, oekaki sites, and meeting people from all over the world. I meet very nice, young Asian kids, people, very talented, friendly and polite. Astonishing very talented young Asian artists, so good, so young. impressive.LOTS of good artists, from everywhere! I love that! Seeing the world, on the web! I am not afraid of technology computers,_ ect.] although l am only a user, not really a techie. l also approve of "Movie pirate sites" and Use them ecT-. l am a pirate! ha Yeah, I never outgrew being"radical"from the 60's,and 70's.(l was a radical feminist.)maybe that prepared me for the web-computer world, cause of earlier radical life-style .soI think this new web-internet world, ect, is exciting and great,Not really scary.I support internet freedom.the web is a wonderful new thing.changes the whole world;I even went on French nail-art site, translated to euros, and got impressive French nail polish you can't get in USA. I love emailing all my relatives, everywhere,

Anyone can build computers. Just like anyone can learn Math, and most of all, learn to draw. It just takes dedication to the craft.
Flubbles (Jan 26, 2012)
Have you got Gta4 wraith? I'll kick your arse on it.
