forumsnewsServer Update and Web Hosting online!

So there have been problems with sending files recently, and I think I may have stumbled upon the cause. There was an internal setting on the server that theoretically was limiting uploads to 512KB. This means if you try to submit an image (plus animation!) that totalled to over 512KB, the upload would be cut off and the image wouldn't go through.

I raised this limit to a couple megs, so hopefully this will fix the problem. Please let me know if you still get the errors. Also, if you were getting errors before, let me know how big and complex your images were (number of colors, number of layers, length of animation). If this is the cause, the images that were failing should be the more complex ones.

In addition I'd like to formally announce the launch of cellosoft.net and 2draw.net webhosting. I spent quite a bit of time getting this setup, and with the lack of donations, this may be the only way to keep 2draw running. So if you're interested in supporting 2draw and getting a website at the same time, please head on over to the new site I made up to get all the details:

http://hosting.cellosoft.net/

Feel free to post, memo, or email any questions you may have about the features or if you're interested in making an offer for a custom plan.

Thanks, and happy drawing!

I'll be signing up just as soon as I get around to it. I just have a quick question, what does it take to setup a simple forum with database/user management, do I just get some server software stuff (like iconboard or whatever)? I'm not sure exactly what I'm planning to do with the whole thing yet, certainly nothing as elaborate as 2draw is now.

any free php/mysql database setup would work. I haven't messed with the install on any of them, but I'm guessing they're all pretty friendly with web based configuration/setup, you just need simple understanding of uploading the files (or wgetting), unzipping, chmodding, and the docs usually give the exact commands.

I may offer support on installing specific scripts I find useful (for example I setup Gallery pretty easily).
