Axil62 (May 31, 2011)
Who's Barry Gibb? I'll have to look it up.
jekyll (May 31, 2011)
Ha! It's back! Thanks, Axil. I've got to get back to work but I'll comment later.
Axil62 (May 31, 2011)

You would have been great in ''Smokey and the Bandit''.

Nice looking young man I'd say.

Last night (on the first version) I commented to the effect that it is an interesting idea to draw yourself as a younger man. I'm not sure I'd find it that easy to do. In the time it took, did your mind race with memories of the past or was it just like drawing any other picture? I think by posting Lennon's song I might have some of the answers. ....Oh... and I had the same hairstyle....

I was at my grandmothers house when that was taken. I could remember my sisters and the kitchen and my grandmothers voice and I thought about how when I was that age the only thing I could think about was when would I get to leave my grandmothers warm house filled with smells of good food and love, soI could go drinking and smoking weed and try to find some slut. So stupid. Now my grandmother is gone, that house was emptied and sold and I'll never get to go there again.

I used to go to my grandmas every week...just to help her clean or bring her lunch or just watch tv...she's gone now too.
jekyll (May 31, 2011)
I figured it might be something like that. I'm sure a lot of the photos taken back then were from special occasions with friends or family no longer around. I'm not too sure I could even find a picture of myself at twenty and I'm sure if I did there would be some baggage attached to it that would make it a trip to draw. Thanks for your frank answer, Axil. I think I'll see what I can dig up
Axil62 (May 31, 2011)
I really would like to see that if at all possible, jekyll... and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
jekyll (May 31, 2011)
sorry I just flipped back from BMW's Chippendale post and was a little shocked there for a moment... but yes, I'll give it a go even if I have to make one up. WHO'D KNOW?
Axil62 (May 31, 2011)

I was turning a patch of soil in the backyard today and as I listened to the "ssssshkt" sound the blade made as it cut through the soil I could smell the rich dark earth as it was exposed with each turn and there was life just under the thin pale crust as earthworms and bugs were disturbed and it occured to me.... this sucks, I'm going inside.

backmagicwoman (May 31, 2011)
lol...i was swatting flies and hit one so hard it bounced up in the air and went right down my bra.
Flubbles (edited May 31, 2011)
When I was younger my friend tossed a frog up in the air and hit it with his tennis racket, I couldn't understand why he would want to harm such a helpless little creature, so I dipped a stick in some cow pat and chased him around the field with it, eventually I caught up with him and smeared it all in his hair. He went home crying, but I never saw him toss a frog up in the air again.
Axil62 (May 31, 2011)
Oh like you never used a tennis raquet to Julian a frog or two.
