My first comment on this doesn't make much sense. With the flower it made me think of the "Ring Around the Rosie" nursery rhyme. Some people believe the rhyme was about the plague in England in the 1600's. A rosie rash, a pocket full of posies ( for the smell) and the look of resignation on her face worked well to depict that belief.

ahh, now I know where you were coming from. Yes, I do know the history behind the rhyme, but I never put them together. Thank you! I like it.
Seem to just be messing and messing with this and nothing sits well with me. I will keep playing and see..and ok, I will keep this one. thanks, again, jekyll. :)
Yeah, the expression is so interesting...those half-mast eyes and the slightly pushed out lower lip...it's a hard expression to read. Sad? Disappointed? Wistful? The corners of the mouth turn upward but there is no feeling of a smile or reflection of it in the eyes. I'm curious if there was a particular emotion you had in mind when you started. ?
Teapot, I know exactly what I was feeling when I drew this. I had just left shults' painting ...peace couldn't be any further away..http://2draw.net/view/120429/. I felt pain for her, I felt hopeless and helpless and asking for the resolve to count my own blessings in the life I have and for others.
