contest 109: Music Posters

Your favorite band is coming to your town and they have commissioned you to draw a poster for their upcoming event. Use a real band and use a real venue from your town/city. You can use references but do not copy any album cover. Be original. Draw it.

this contest will be open for entries as of 01/27 to 02/05 11:59 EST

some inspiration: kid rock, spongebob, pearl jam

All skill levels are invited to join, but please spend time on your entry, this is an intermediate board.
Entries will be judged by : The Canadian EH! Cyclops ,The British Love Tunnel Flubbles ,and The American Snuggie Elly

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Creativity: The amount of imagination, originality and expressiveness that was put into the entry.
Technique & Effort: The amount of style, skill and craft that was put into the entry.
Following the theme: How well the entry followed the theme of the contest.

I love poster contests. Now, does it have to be a venue in my own city? Because my ittybitty village just has a café, bakery, snackbar and a bus stop, teehee...

Is this still a contest board? (I enjoyed them when it was and would like to do them again if it isn't) Saw the dates but wasn't sure if they were recent or not?

they were fun.. but no... there aren't any now..

Wonder if they'd be interested in starting again? Can we still use the boards?

the board still works.. .the problem was having judges and someone to run the contests... Kloxboy was the last one to do it

no.. we have a contest board from when we had them.. but nothing running.. no contest mod/judges any more

That's sad. Well at least I have Corel Painter X3, Sketchbook Pro, and Artrage 4 in case 2draw fades away.

I hope it doesn't. I would miss it and the people who draw here too much. I'd love to see them start up the contests again :) I have Artrage and Gimp but I am too attached to Lascaux on here.

Oh yeah I also have Gimp. Gimp is an awesome, free drawing program. Just recently got the free Trial of what Kloxboy used to use (and still uses?), and that's Paint Tool Sai. Love Paint Tool Sai so far. Liked it so much, I had to have the full version.
