Oh how lucky your kids are. One reason I joined military was mainly for the free food and housing. My parents were not broke, just cheap. How does beans and potatos sound to you? Everday.

My kid is only lucky because of the government. Therefore I respect the government... but I do not like what is happening right now... at all... and I just made up the Thanksgiving meal.. I've never cooked a turkey in my life because I cannot pay attention to too many things at once due to my medication... but I do make those breakfast sandwiches... why not(that's when I'm my best, in the morning, with my coffee) ...better than paying someone to do it... See, that's how it is? Everybody wants payback... well that's not how it is in my life... I don't expect a thing.. but what I get, is very appreciated.. and what I can give back is only what I can do at a certain time because I am usually sick... so food.. ya know.. I don't need a guilt trip about it if that's what you're trying to do.. and if not then I'm sorry... This is a depression we're going through right now.. and if we lived off of beans and potatoes well...that wouldn't be a bad idea right now.. so maybe we will... but I prefer pasta and chicken and vegetables :) (Sorry, I am so used to guilt trips) and I am dealing with pneumonia right now so sorry if I don't even make sense - plus, I am sorry you went through that..edit: I am a bit more with it now..I'm sorry for snapping. I am so used to being defensive lately

we were poor growing up, so we ate a lot of beans and rice...sometimes just rice...so most of my childhood years I was anemic and sometimes suffered with various vitamin deficiencies..good thing there was still such a thing as the free clinic back then...we could never have afforded health care.
