quite wonderful, very illustrative; (do they still hire illustrators some where? Just New York,or back east,or Los Angeles?? I guess you have to go to publishing big cities, where there is work. Only thing I can think of,they still use illustrators, is kids' books. Not a bad idea. Otherwise, photography has taken over. I'm going to buy a digital camera, some time before Xmas, cause I want to photograph all the wonderful trees around me, mainly. OOPS, and I need to photograph my "embellishing" work,. like sequining, embroidery, fabric painting, and the "art" clothing I've been working on, so I have copies of the work. Yeah, too bad photography even took over fashion illustration. SAY, my friend long ago,who was a wonderful ink and board perfectionist, artist, did medical illustration for a job. Medical illustration is still being done.
Yeah; I've been told quite a lot to become an illustrator, but I can't draw a picture without something violent in it. It is a damn shame that photography has taken over, probably why I despise it so much. But, as with anything, there are certain exceptions.
Medical Illustrating is awesome, but art is a personal thing for me. I don't want someone to take it away from me, like they almost did in high school. (Dear God)
As soon as you take the fun out of arting, the inspiration and motivation is gone.
