lori (edited Jun 22, 2010)
the cross is just symbolism... it's through the Lord we find our Father in Heaven
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 22, 2010)
What a very nice lower case "t".

How ignorant of you to assume this is of religious intentions, lori...shame!
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
It shows a relationship with Christ! Not ignorant at all! If we focus on Him and not the cares and distractions of this world, He gives us peace and hope!
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
Believe what you want but it doesn't mean you're right... or left.

padmooks (Jun 22, 2010)
I agree with the crimson king.
plus t is one of my favorite letters, this t is very good T.
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
Art is an expression of ones feelings! Not used to promote nor put down anyones views or feelings. It's funny how anything of a religious nature is ridiculed and things that may be viewed offensive are acceptable! Just a sign of the times I guess!
lori (Jun 22, 2010)
anh shut your piehole CK, ok thanks
backmagicwoman (Jun 22, 2010)
haha!...lori said piehole..lol
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
Oh shit lori, that wasn't very spiritual of you.
It's only ridiculed because more and more people are waking up to the fact that Christianity, Catholicism, Jehovah's ect ect.. are like any other backwater cult.. ridiculous.
These are topics I don't usually like to comment on, but whenever I see lori open her piehole it's hard to resist!
padmooks (edited Jun 22, 2010)
hahaha
well, mr. mad scientist...
you know art is not only an expression of ones feeling but also, no matter what its supposed to be people can interpret it however they feel. thats what art is.
so..its a perfectly lovely cross/T/two sticks taped together/ mud sculpture/ my mother in law that i dont have/ anorexic chick
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
I'm so crushed! Boo-hoo!:)) Will I ever recover? LOL!!!!!!!!
backmagicwoman (Jun 22, 2010)
Look..everyone just needs to accept that all people do not believe the same..and quit being so childish about it and live and let live...what harm does it honestly cause for someone to express their belief as long as they are not trying to cram it down your throat..if madscientists believes then leave it at that..and if ck doesn't then leave it at that..
lori (Jun 22, 2010)
yeah so shut your piehole CK... Mine stays open. Ladies first, and I'm not done yet.
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
AMEN!:))
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
Whatever keeps those faulty synapses of yours cho-choing along lori.

That's was pretty unnecessary bmw, we're all adults here. Your wordy group hug was sour to the taste.
padmooks (Jun 22, 2010)
ha im not an adult...
lori (Jun 22, 2010)
what planet do you come from crimson
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 22, 2010)
You're pretty close mooki! 7 days after my bday.
enjoydotcom (Jun 22, 2010)
Why is it okay for someone to feel offended when someone says they don't believe in some higher power. And not okay to be offended when day after day images of some sort of religions are being stuffed down our throats?

I'm not necessarily speaking about 2draw, but in general. It seems like religious people have the know it all about believe and are the only ones allowed to have an opinion on it. When in fact, all they have is the believe in something not proven.

TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
amen enjoy...just kidding. But yeah, pretty unbelievable right? But it's okay! Stay the course and one day intelligence will prevail, sinking the holey ship that is the self imprisonment of blind religious belief.
Didn't anyone learn ANYTHING from the great scam of Scientology?
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
All I did was draw a pic. Did not try to force my views on anyone! As I said before it is strange people get bent out of shape over a simple pic! Did not mean to start a holy war. Pity it takes an arguement for someone to even think about God! But it's all good and it is well with my soul!:)) P.S. If you look, I did not cast the first stone!
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 22, 2010)
No shit mad, that's not the point. If you can't handle talking about it then consider that before drawing lower case "t"'s.
And what holywar? So far it's theism being reprimanded by non-theists.
backmagicwoman (edited Jun 22, 2010)
If you don't like the taste then don't put it in your mouth ck...last I checked I stilll live in a free country and say what I want..just as everyone else here does...lots of picturtes posted here offend me but I don't say anything because it's every person's right here to draw what they want..if it's a big problem then maybe there should be something in the rules about religious drawings being not allowed....other sites have it..which is why I came here because no one tried to tell me what i could draw and what I couldn't..
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
Psalm 14:1
backmagicwoman (Jun 22, 2010)
You know what's funny?..my best friend doesn't believe in God, and I do believe in God..and we get along just fine because I respect her and she respects me..so what the hell is the big deal...get over it.
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
I love that, "last I checked we still live in a free country"

I'm not actually sure what made you say any of that, much like your last post it was completely unnecessary. Nobody condemned anyone for saying anything, this was a simple discussion with a few jabs here and there but at no point did someone's freedom of speech come under question.

Hey bmw we have something in common then! But if they drew a picture of christ on a cross they would certainly here it from me, or not, depends on my mood. But they're my friends because they set that crap aside.
backmagicwoman (edited Jun 22, 2010)
Then you are disrespectful of your friends...and I feel very sorry for them...
I hope my sour taste lingers with you for a long time.
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
How am I disrespectful to them? Like I said, they keep their crap to themselves so no one gets butt hurt about anything. It's easier to move on when you're arguing with pure ignorance, so the sour is short lived.
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
Even in the midst of this storm God looks down and laughs! I will continue to draw what I wish and when I wish! If it offends you, I'm sorry, but it is better to draw something positive and uplifting to ones spirit and mind! Thank you all for your comments be they negative or positive! God bless you all!
enjoydotcom (Jun 22, 2010)
@mad, please read my comment again and see that I had in there "I'm not necessarily speaking about 2draw, but in general. " But yes, with you wanting God to bless us all, you are now forcing your beliefs onto people who don't believe. I don't mind religious people, I made an observation. :D

Oh and on a lighter and artistic note: if it is supposed to be a religious cross, the horizontal bar should be higher up and narrower. Otherwise it really is a lower case t or the plus sign.
And I'm not a big fan of the scratchiness of the background, it makes it look like you used a pencil or felt tip pen.
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 22, 2010)
Again...no one was offended. Except maybe you, and the rest of you defensive bunch.
Roytje (Jun 22, 2010)
It looks like you are offended, ms, with all the !'s at the end of every sentence.
backmagicwoman (Jun 22, 2010)
If I gave a shit about what you think of me ck, you'd be the first one i'd give it to.
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
Thank you for your correcting me! You must have some religious background! Your comment s have been accepted and shall be kept in mind! Thank you and God bless you all anyway! If you don't beleive, you should not be offended! So don't worry, be happy!
enjoydotcom (Jun 22, 2010)
I do have some religious background, was baptized as a baby, did the holy communion as a 7 yr old, and again when I was 12. Went to Catholic schools until I was 17, so I guess my background was quite religious.

But in our home we were not into religion, the schools were just the very best my town could offer and apart from the baptizing which was traditional in our family as on both my moms and dads side they were Roman-Catholic (although not very strict), the communions were organized from the schools. We (our parents and I) could have said no, we don't want that part of the education. But looking back I think it is good to have some knowledge about all history. So also about religions.

At the moment I don't believe a God, but I won't go into detail as it is a discussion I don't feel like having here were I come to draw and talk to friends.
madscientist111 (Jun 22, 2010)
I do beleive in God! He's been good to me! He's healed me when I was sick, comforted me in times of sadness, provided for me when it looked like there was no way! He gives me peace in the midst of a physical storm or a spiritual one! As I said not cramming my beleifes on anyone, but should not be judged or ridiculed for what I beleive! We have free will! We can do right or wrong! God fights my battles for me! Eph. 6:12
Miss_DJ (edited Jun 22, 2010)
Such a simplistic piece of art to spawn such controversy. It's such an innocent little drawing and some feel that it 'pushes your religious beliefs down other's throats.' I think it just conveys your own belief and that's that.
By the way, ms...I don't think it has to be a perfectly drawn cross on a beginner board, does it? Maybe you meant it more abstractish? lol..anyway...I'm happy you believe in God. I find it wondrous and marvelous that God believes in every single one of us including those that don't believe in Him. I'd rather know Him than believe that I know otherwise. But, that's just me. Love in Christ, Donna

ps...the most interesting thing about some of the comments above is that a drawing can cause people to squirm and fidget in their seats..why is that?
It happens any time His name is mentioned. So, non-believers...did you ever stop to question WHY do you feel so opposed?
People draw all sorts of things here and the One that causes the most descension is God art. When I see a drawing of Buddha, or a witch or any other religious or anti-religious art it doesn't have that 'squirmy' effect on me...so why is it you get so uptight about this simple draw and what it represents? That's the queston to ask yourself when you're alone at night with your thoughts. I have a proposition for you....why don't you ASK GOD TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU? If you don't believe, then nothing will happen, right? But, if something does...then won't you be happy you asked Him? I double dog dare ya....♥
padmooks (Jun 22, 2010)
dang.
TheCrimsonKing (edited Jun 22, 2010)
bmw, I have no idea where your coming from, your literally pulling things out of thin air. I really don't care that you don't care.

Miss_DJ, no one is uptight about this drawing, at least I am not. I didn't squirm when I saw it or felt any other act of disdain you mentioned. I'm glad however that you and others see our comments as acts of opposition and proudly take steps to further convince yourselves by telling us that we are simply beguiled souls who no matter how much we choose not to believe that we are still caressed by the loving hand of god. I mean if that doesn't just sound ridiculous, I don't know what would. And I know I could say something like, "well you REALLY can't prove god exists", but the easiest counter from your angle is, "but you can't disprove he doesn't!" It is cop outs like that that make discussing religion uninspiring, we get nowhere because it's like we're disputing semantics without getting to the bigger picture. Know what I'm saying?
backmagicwoman (Jun 22, 2010)
Why do you keep telling me what you care about and don't care about..I mean jeez..get over yourself ck.
TheCrimsonKing (Jun 22, 2010)
Right back at ya, I mean come on.
Flubbles (edited Jun 22, 2010)
I believe in masturbation but you dont see me preaching about the masturbation lord, if I did you would all think I was crazy. When believing in god is just as ridiculous. If I draw a picture of a maturbating penis lord I was the same amount of respect back for my religion as you think you richly deserve for yours.
livingwater (Jun 22, 2010)
John 14:6 Jesus said to him "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
firecracker (Jun 22, 2010)
All this "fuss" over a simple little cross.......how silly!! "LOL"!! I'm a christian, and I believe in God.....and nothing and nobody will ever change that....:)
cyclops (Jun 22, 2010)
no one cares.
firecracker (Jun 22, 2010)
I care....and that's all that matters....."lol"!! :)
Miss_DJ (Jun 22, 2010)
CK et al ....the challenge still stands:
Why don't you ASK GOD TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU? If you don't believe, then nothing will happen, right?
But, if something does..? Well, what have you got to lose?

By the way, you labeled yourself a beguiled soul, I didn't.
If you want to 'get to the big picture'...why not ask God to reveal that to you, too?
If He doesn't exist as you believe He doesn't, nothing will happen....
But, if He does...what will happen?
Or are you afraid of finding out that you could be misinformed about what you have been believing to be the truth?

Flubbles: Your whole statement is so ridiculous it isn't worth addressing at all.

Roytje (Jun 23, 2010)
About the challenge:

I did ask it. Nothing happened. What does that mean?
madscientist111 (Jun 23, 2010)
Give it time!
Miss_DJ (Jun 23, 2010)
I'm happy that you asked, Roytje! God WILL reveal Himself to you in His time. Just keep your eyes and your heart open....you'll see, I promise.
Roytje (Jun 23, 2010)
That is so abstract.
Miss_DJ (Jun 23, 2010)
Jeriamiah 29:12-13
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
