If there are any ShiPainter/PaintBBS users still around (as in, if these two tools still work correctly for you), could you tell me which browser/Java VM do you use?
I'm especially interested if there is a fix of any kind to make them work with the latest Firefox/Sun Java combination (which atm is: 3.6.3 / 6 update 20, respectively). |

I stopped using firefox when i wanted to draw. Too many problems that i don't feel like listing atm.
I switched to using the safari browser and haven't had any issues since. |

Okay—— Seems like this is not quite browser-specific after all as IE gives me the exact same result. Also, a guy said that PaintBBS\ShiPainter do in fact work for him even though he has the same configuration... Which, too, seems to be at least part true, as I've confirmed it using a virtual machine (VirtualBox; mostly devoid of installed software apart from OS, browser and Java which are all equivalent to what's on my 'real' PC).
Other than that, killing all resident programs and disabling non-default services seem to have no effect as well. There definitely must be something in the background screwing things up but at this point I'm honestly at a loss as to what the hell that might be. Btw if you wonder, the actual problem I'm having with these is that when I set the brush size to 6 or more, it stops 'drawing' anything. |

I have the same problem! When I change brush/use eraser it stops working!
Downloading Safari to see if it fixes the problem. |

If you're on Windows, get Chrome.
If you're on Mac, Safari until they work out the java kinks in chrome. If you're on Linux, whatever... |
