elly (May 4, 2010)
Hey this is a really nice one! Ya, I'd say "git on ov'r yonder in dat dar intermed'ate board! I reck'in yu'd do a right fine job in dat dar studeeeo! Ya'hear?" =)
cyclops (May 4, 2010)
I don't think your ready for the intermediate board.
Maiko (May 4, 2010)
I don't think you're ready for the intermediate board either.
Pantera (May 5, 2010)
This is cool looking , great job on making it look like gold :) I think you can draw in any of the boards if you wanted to, noone really cares anymore, not from what I have seen in the other boards anyway.
populatis (edited May 7, 2010)
Thanks Pantera with all due respect to Maiko, and to cyclops, The first thing that I get from each of your kind statements is" I don't think." and it is clear that Each has lost the capacity to do so .Whom ever died and left you the authority to be the thought police. You have justified your authority in collaborating with each other to discredit your own selves. Art is not a philosophy. Art is an expression of creativity to bringing great joy both to the artist and to the spectator. This is the Spirit of our Heavenly Father .Whom gave us our talents so we can practice to be like him.Amen
gotcho (May 10, 2010)
BRAVO! Populatis! your statement to the critics is priceless. Your work is fantastic.
Flubbles (May 10, 2010)
Patting yourself on the back there I see.
cyclops (May 10, 2010)
ridiculous.
shults (May 11, 2010)
No, his statements for the critcs was actually a corny attempt of justification.
Attacking critics is the first action people usually take, and then they often claim art doesn't have to be perfect/realistic (when in fact it looks like this is what they're trying to achieve) but an expression of their own feelings.

But I'm not saying these are the requirements for the intermediate board here, you only have to spend here 30 mins of drawing and have some knowledge of the applets.

Anyways, I think he knew he's not there yet, that's why he didn't post on intermediate level before.
madscientist (May 11, 2010)
Lovely work! Excellent shading and highlights!:))
Miss_DJ (May 11, 2010)
suspended in time..that's what I'd call this. nice draw
populatis (May 12, 2010)
I'm not at all afraid to be evaluated by any critic but the comments were intentionally benign. I am not here to get a score .This is recreational and I am a novice at this website. However,I am delighted to see some of the other work here.Although it's not for me to say who's Qualified for whatever position on a FREE website. But, it is sad that I will not visit or miss those galleries pertaining to ones of negative perspectives.Everyone else I give praise and thanks
Maiko (May 19, 2010)
As a moderator of this website, we're trying to prevent crappy work from being posted on the wrong boards.
As I've said before, the board isn't somewhere you "move up to" but rather if you feel like you're going to spend more time on a picture and/or need more space on it, you are free to draw the picture on the intermediate board.
As for no one caring about the quality of the boards anymore, isn't that just shameful that people are using that to justify drawing sloppy art on the bigger boards, instead of trying to do better work and better the art quality of this site?

"Populatis"
All I did was give my opinion as someone who moderates this website and as a fellow artist, and if you have to get defensive and mock me instead of respecting my opinion, then shame on you.

and people wonder why some of the "better" artists have left 2draw, it's not hard to see with how many terrible attitudes we have on this website.
Suntan (May 20, 2010)
Now that I know that Maiko is a moderator, is lynnandcharlie, also? Advice is so freely given here, it is hard to know which to follow as a newcomer.
cyclops (May 20, 2010)
I have a terrible attitude.
lynnandcharlie (May 20, 2010)
no I am not a moderator here but was told by another artist to shut up so I am closing out my site, I have been over reacting to some peoples comments and I have seen others over react and I am tired of it, I am not one of the better artists but this hurts, I was trying to get the newcomers who were putting out large volumes of inexperienced draws and pushing more experienced artists off the board to stay on the beginner board because I did not see any action from the moderators for days, I should have left it alone
backmagicwoman (May 20, 2010)
People tell me to shut up all the time..I bet someone will tell me before today is even over..any takers?
Flubbles (May 20, 2010)
I think people take things too seriously here, you should worry about things that actually matter in your real life and only take offence to things from people you actually know.
backmagicwoman (May 20, 2010)
I agree with you flubbles.
Suntan (edited May 20, 2010)
haha, cyclops.
Ok, landc....I was just making sure, because up top you told this person to try the intermediate board.....sort of opposite of what you are saying now....and in taking, he was encouraged...then was given the next advice and the rest ensued. It becomes confusing to someone new, which now I also know, that you are fairly new yourself. Hence, I guess, what you call overreacting, is a symptom of that. Shut up, be quiet, listen and learn..however you want to say it, doesn't have to be a bad thing, especially when you are new. "I should have left it alone.." is your own good advice.
Maybe you will rethink it, change your mind and stay to enjoy the great art and the people who are in the mix.. and all the exchanges between them.. and let the mods do their jobs. It's a fun place.
backmagicwoman (edited May 20, 2010)
When i was 13 i was in a very integrated school....then my mom and dad moved us out to hicksville..everyone was like all rebel flag and no teeth and the like..very few people for me to fit in with..but even though people there tried to screw with me and cause me trouble, I took no shit from anybody and eventually became accepted.. ...just don't take any crap is all I am saying...
Flubbles (May 20, 2010)
All you had to do was show off your fanny farting skills.
backmagicwoman (May 20, 2010)
Um..how do you think I was finally accepted...;)
populatis (May 20, 2010)
I see that I have created much grief and I hope all of you will accept my apology .I have stained the board with art that was not suitable to make the grade.and I am very sorry. However,I am in agreement with my friend Flubbles. As I have stated this is just recreational to me and I do have a life. This was just part of it. As for Lynnand Charlie I am very fond of your work. And it would please me if you continue to make us all entertained by staying and doing more of your brilliance. As for Maiko I knew you not .And now that I do know your authority .Forgive my "sloppy work". I hope to see more newcomers do great things. That's what makes this website so great!
Wraith (May 21, 2010)
Hmmm. Yeah. I know what Maiko is talking about. I don't spend too much time on my drawings, and so, I am still using the beginner board. I want to try intermediate soon, but I am planning on spending some quality time ( I think I have a few intermediate drawings in gallery not sure ). I think if you really want to post in advanced, you have to look at drawings from Flubbles and Jekyll's collabs. Or just thier own drawings alone. A simple drawing should always be in beginners. Even great artists of this website I am sure post in beginners when they draw something simple.

Aside from that, I think this is a great beginners piece! Like the gold/bronze look of the hour glass.
