Great big woman with meat shakin' on her bones
Oh! Oh! My soul, lordy momma
Big big woman with meat shakin' on her bones
Every time she shimmies
The skinny women all go home!

I ain't gonna marry
I ain't gonna settle down
I'm gonna stay right here and
Run these men around.

I couldn't find the version of this song that I first heard...but these old guys are fantastic!

Eldorado Syncopators \"I Ain't Gonna Marry\"

Yeah, I still gotta finish the hand and some other bits. But my beagle wants her supper.
enirroc (Mar 25, 2010)
I love this, she's gorgeous. I look forward to the finish. :)
Flubbles (Mar 25, 2010)
It doesn't look much like her in the face, and i think i know what's throwing it off.Her top lip should be thinner than her bottom lip, it's coming along nicely though.
firecracker (Mar 26, 2010)
Very nice pic.....she just seems to be a little "heavy" though ....to be into "burlesque".....but she is very pretty, and I love her red hair. If she were a bit thinner....she would probably be the queen of burlesque!!! "lol"!! Awesome draw though.....:)
cpomaybo (Mar 26, 2010)
love how pretty her hair looks! great work.
Miss_DJ (edited Mar 26, 2010)
this is great on so many levels..the textures are awesome! Great title and song...here's an attempt I made a long time ago... http://2draw.net/view/44413/
Kloxboy (Mar 27, 2010)
Pretty sweet thus far. You've already captured a lot of her hotness, especially in the body. Thanks! :D
Teapot (Mar 27, 2010)
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment. Miss DJ, I thank you for showing me your take on the Randy Newman song. I had a second thought for my title after I read FC's weightist comment, so I changed it to reflect my musings.
madscientist (Mar 27, 2010)

lol, Guess That says it all!! :D So many things I can't get over here. First beautiful...work and woman! Talk about it all in the right places starting with attitude! Really such attention to detail in this, shading of skin, the tones in it are just awesome. I really like the reflection of red on her left wrist..really, I could go on and on. What a Clox gift! Amazing work, Teapot, really wow. :D
firecracker (edited Mar 28, 2010)
"Awwwww".....I'm sorry if my comment made you decide to change the title of this pic.....I think the pic is awesome, and she's a very pretty lady with gorgeous red hair......I only thought that if she was going to be in "burlesque".... that she should be thinner.....but who knows.....I'm probably wrong....there are probably a lot of heavy women in burlesque nowadays....I dunno.....the only movie that I ever saw that had to do with burlesque was a long time ago, I saw this movie on tv.....it was called "Gypsy", and Natalie Wood starred in it.....it was a really very interesting movie....it was the actual story of the life of the real "Gypsy Rose Lee". Natalie Wood was an awesome actress. This draw reminded me of the movie....:)

great work
Teapot (edited Mar 28, 2010)
No worries, FC. There are far more people with prejudices against large people than not. I am never surprised when otherwise genteel folk are willing to express those prejudices with a charming and disingenuous lack of a PC consideration than they might be if the subject was black or Asian, any nationality, really, or retarded or otherwise 'challenged'...possessing whatever characteristic is no longer considered fair game for bashing. It's still perfectly alright to denigrate large people. Please be kind enough to excuse me now while I go and take my tongue out of my cheek.

On a related tangent: Saw a really good movie last night with Timothy Spall (great Brit character actor) playing 'The Fattest Man in Britain'...based on a true story.
Flubbles (Mar 28, 2010)
That was a really good drama, I think timothy spall is great actor, and playing 46 stone georgie showed him at his best. There was a drama called the street here late last year showing six seperate people from the same street over six episodes , and timothy was the main character in one of the episodes. I think you would really enjoy it if you can find somewhere to download it, all of the episodes were great.
Teapot (edited Mar 28, 2010)
Yeah, I've got all the episodes of The Street. I love that series. It's where I first saw Tim Spall I think. I even love the theme music...that piano. Tried to find out who wrote the music but no luck.

Flubbles (Mar 28, 2010)
Do you still not know who wrote it? I thought you was on about the song they used for the trailer "bon ivor-flume" but thats got no piano in it.
firecracker (edited Mar 28, 2010)
"lol" teapot......I think you totally misunderstood what I was saying......I am definitely not prejudiced against anyone.....especially overweight people. I was overweight at one time too. Most of my family has weight problems....most everyone I know would like to lose some weight....but I seem to be the only one who can't gain any weight.....I am so skinny I look like a skeleton.....I wouldn't mind looking like the woman in the pic that you drew. So.....seriously.....I don't go around "bashing" anyone.....overweight or not. I just stated my opinion of this pic because it reminded me of the movie called "Gypsy".....and Natalie Wood was playing the part of the burlesque queen named Gypsy Rose Lee, and she was very slim. I never saw that movie you mentioned called "The fattest man in Britain".....but there is a similar movie that I saw once called "What's eating Gilbert Grape".....Johnny Depp starred in this movie and Leonardo de Caprio played his mentally challenged brother.....their mother was a woman who was hugely obese.....it was a very sad but interesting story....if you've never seen the movie.....I would recommend seeing it.
enirroc (Mar 28, 2010)
I love 'What's eating Gilbert Grape'. Haven't seen it in years, so I think I'll go watch that now, thanks Firecracker.
firecracker (Mar 28, 2010)
you're welcome.....I'd like to see it again myself.......I think maybe I will.....
Teapot (Mar 29, 2010)
The role that Leonardo de Caprio played in Gilbert Grape is still the best acting he's done, in my opinion. Makes me sad. He was pretty good in Shutter Island but he was brilliant in Gilbert Grape. I have a hard time with him as an adult actor because he has such a baby face. Oh no! I've just realized I'm prejudiced against people with baby faces.

Teapot (edited Apr 6, 2010)
Thanks, everyone for your comments. Candehfeind, great R.D Lang quote in your profile! Flubbles, I never saw the trailer for The Street so wasn't familiar with Flume. Nice song, though. No, still haven't found out who wrote the theme...the one that's played during the opening credits.
Flubbles (edited Apr 6, 2010)
His names Adrian Johnston, he did the music for the film kinky boots. He's a pretty well known composer.
Teapot (Apr 6, 2010)
I'll look him up. Thanks.
Suntan (Apr 24, 2010)
this is just amazing, too.
itchymonkey (May 25, 2010)
amazing indeed...go on suntan comment again;)
Suntan (edited May 26, 2010)
hey, thanks, itchy! :)...so as I was saying, yeah, the feathers, like I said on Bess, so real..must have been tedious to do those. I keep coming back to look at your work, and I see more things to admire about them. Also mentioned the back wall. I don't remember chibi having texture, so that is a very nice touch. Amazing work.
Teapot (May 26, 2010)
damn. I've been trying to remember how I did that background texture! I think it had to do with using the space and scatter control sliders and a hard, square brush with the smudge tool. Maybe. *rolls eyes* The feathers were pretty easy and fast. It's the skin that takes me for friggin' EVER.
