Is that something your wife eats? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9MXx9xej10
Axil62 (Mar 24, 2010)
Yes, I eat them too. They are more commonly known as lychee. Very good, sweet and slippery.
Flubbles (edited Mar 24, 2010)
Oh right, i've had them before around my friends house. I actually prefer longans, i think they're sweeter.
Axil62 (Mar 24, 2010)
Sweet

I think it was a good idea marrying a chinese woman, no need to go to the takeaway anymore.
Axil62 (Mar 24, 2010)
You married a Chinese woman? Cool, I married a Laotian woman... of course, I married her because I love her, but if you did it for the convenience of not having to deal with carry out, good luck with that.
backmagicwoman (Mar 24, 2010)
lol..pretty sweet looking.
elly (Mar 24, 2010)
The one on the right reminds me of a pearl onion =) I don't believe I've ever heard of lychee but your drawing of them is nice! =) The coating on the outside, is that like a nut shell?
DoOp (Mar 24, 2010)
Those look like logans O: lychees have bumpy red outer shells :D

STILL they look tastyyyy. Onomnomnom
vlad.the.hamster (Mar 24, 2010)
Longans... <3 I like longans more than lychees. :)
Miss_DJ (Mar 24, 2010)
Beautiful!
Axil62 (Mar 24, 2010)
elly: The outer shell is sort of like a soft leathery feel.
Doop: You're right about the bumps.. I just didn't put that much effort into detail.
backmagicwoman (Mar 25, 2010)
Looks like a seedless grape with no skin...would I have to got to a specialty store to buy these...I've heard of them but I have never seen them for sale anywhere around here...
Axil62 (Mar 26, 2010)
They're available in most grocery stores around here now days. Didn't used to be. I think she still goes to the Thai market for them just because she is used to going there, but yeah, you should be able to find them at whatever market "ya'll" have there. Win Dixie or whatever.
Roytje (Mar 26, 2010)
Seedless? not really :3 well drawn, they're delicious.
Axil62 (Mar 26, 2010)
Thanks Roy.
BMW: That black thing in the center is the seed and that brown stuff on the outside is the skin, but you're right, they are delicious.
backmagicwoman (Mar 26, 2010)
I am gonna look around for them..I like to try new foods...
Axil62 (Mar 26, 2010)
It's kind of like a combo between Jello and Jelly... only it's natural.
backmagicwoman (Mar 26, 2010)
you ever had muscadines or scuppernongs...they seem like they would be similar to them...
Axil62 (Mar 26, 2010)
Oh come on now...you made those names up!
backmagicwoman (edited Mar 26, 2010)
Nope..thay are real..I buy them by the bushel for my mom every summer...they are good but the skin can be quite tough..the guts are delicious though..
