I love the mood you've set with that sepulchral palette-appropriate for 'The Desperate Man'. The fabric and vein-y hands and forearms are especially well done. I think I saw someone else paint his 'Origin of the World' recently. Flubbles, perhaps? I admire his philosophy as, when he died he wanted it said of him 'He belonged to no school, to no church, to no institution, to no academy, least of all to any régime except the régime of liberty.' I guess they're going to have to get Johnny Depp to play him in the movie, eh?

When I first saw this....I thought it was my favorite pirate....Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow......I never heard of this guy (corbet), so I googled him......he's a very interesting sortof fellow, and a pretty good artist. I agree that if they ever make a movie of his life.....Johnny Depp would be perfect to play the part of Corbet....awesome draw!!! :)
