for Him. In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, "I'm done". But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because.......... The folded napkin meant, "I'm coming back!" Jesus is coming back.

vlad...I'm not afraid.
If I type like that anymore there is no way I'll publish a novel lol.
And lovely picture Miss DJ~!
Btw, I really love the picture, it's so delicate.
I think religion in all its forms is the most evil, damaging and vile thing that's ever plagued the creatures on Earth. Does that make me a turdhead too? Mixing Judaism and Christianity myths together and confusing them with each other is sort of funny from a historical and even theological viewpoint. Joseph Campbell would get a kindly chuckle out of this thread. He was a kindly guy and one of the few people I've come across who could talk about the human need for spiritual explanations without getting all Harry Potterish.
A very cool draw though.
Personally, I believe there is definitely something beyond us out there holding everything together, but we as humans can't ever truly know what God is, though we can become close to God and learn from God. Or perhaps God is simply everything, and everything is part of God. We can't know for sure. But don't worry so much about what God is and just live your life to the fullest. That is what I believe right now.

James 2:19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
(thanks, bette!) ♥
But, another part of me has this lingering doubt about whether he is real or not. My best guy friend, someone who I have known since I was born, is an athiest, and every time religion comes into conversations he says these things that I find it hard to dispute. I want to defend God, actually every time someone says something insulting I get really angry and I do, but it's hard when I don't know what to say. I don't know if what I believe in is a hundred percent true. But then I remind myself that it is called faith for a reason- you can't prove it directly. There is hard-fast evidence, indisputable evidence, but people can taint it and twist it into something it's not. It's hard, and I hate it.
Your 'real' friends will accept you as you are, whether or not they agree with what you believe. Friends accept (not necessarily approve) each other's differences...and respect each other enough to basically 'live and let live.'
The next time your atheist friend begins to insult your beliefs, you may want to ask him what is it about your beliefs that frightens him so?
Because that kind of behavior from him...i.e. insults, etc..stems from fear.
God, You are my Father,
Jesus, You have set me free,
Holy Spirit, continue to guide me,
Until I am home with Thee.
Fear is at the base of pride, too...it's all over!
My hope for you is that you don't let go of what you believe and hold fast to it, no matter what.
When everything fades away in time...and it all will.....it's the only thing you'll have.
And in the meantime, what a Gift to have during this sometimes arduous journey!♥
Not gonna comment on the hole religious issue, but I do like the napkin.
