My first picture here on 2draw.net

Started this after lunch one day I think. The plate was supposed to look like ceramic, but ended up looking something like pewter (maybe).

I was going to suggest this site for my old middle school's art class to use because they have drawing tablets but only a very basic drawing program. But after a short glance around, I'm about 99.9% sure this site would end up being blocked due to the poor standards of language. (I'm talking about the abundance of swear words..)

Anyone know of a good oekaki-like website with quality drawing programs and automatic sensoring along with compatibility with macs?

Why? What the fuck is wrong with the language in this shit hole?
NODorGDI5 (Mar 11, 2010)
Hahah..
Flubbles (Mar 11, 2010)
What a fucking cheek.
Bubblicious (Mar 11, 2010)
Motherfucker, I swear I will fucking- no I'm just joking. It's not blocked, I don't know how many times I've gone to this site during school.
backmagicwoman (Mar 11, 2010)
What are you talking about...this is the cleanest place around...
Flubbles (Mar 11, 2010)
I used to go to a chatroom that blocked certain words, but if you typed a swearword in the middle of the swearword you wanted to use it only blocked the middle swearword and left the one you wanted to use, ie "fuassck" would then become "fuck" and the mods used to get all pissy with me.

Yeah, this site is school friendly. I used to come here last year during third period to try and kill the boredom. The language can be a little sketchy, but it's not like those kids will never see or hear bad words. I myself believe words are just words, so whatever. Haha. But yeah, nice drawing, I like the shiny plate.

I rarely use swear words.....they annoy me......but I remember seeing a movie that had the most undesirable vocabulary.....most everyone in the movie used swear words....it was really annoying. The movie itself was awesome..I even bought the video of it.....but I hate the language they used......anyways.....I don't know why certain people here enjoy using those types of words.....Seriously though.....I would really like to know what people get out of using swear words....and I don't think that is a stupid question....I am just curious to know why????
Axil62 (Mar 11, 2010)
To offend other people.
backmagicwoman (Mar 11, 2010)
Yep....and depending in what context you use it, it can be very humorous.
enirroc (Mar 11, 2010)
To me, swearing is just words. It's no different to say "oh darn" rather than "oh shit". In your mind, the meaning behind the word is the same. So why does it really matter? People try and use words to offend, or express themselves, which I think is fine. But it always interests me when I find people really offended by the words. I can understand why it would bother someone if someone else walked up and called them a "shitfucker" or something equally as insulting, but when people just get aggrevated and angry over others using profane language around them (not to them), it's just beyond me. Why exactly do they care? Well, I blame their environments and how they were raised. It's sorta like brainwash, isn't it? "Oh no timmy, don't say that word, it's a bad word" But why don't the kids ask why it's a bad word? Who decided it was anyways? I don't know...lol, I'm done now.
NODorGDI5 (Mar 11, 2010)
Lot's of comments, none about the picture. (I don't mind or expect anything different.)

Yeah, personally - don't care a lot about the swears. But I know that the teacher I was going to suggest the site to, would care about it. Remember, it's a middle school (grade 7-8). Internet in the school is closely monitored and schools have problems with swears. I don't want to get the teacher in trouble when she opens up this program with a class of kids, and the first thing they see (being kids of course) is the swears. It would be awesome if they could dynamically block words inside the browsers. Anyway, I'm sorry if I made anyone feel bad about my mention of non-recommendation. I might still tell the art teacher about it, but mention the problem in-case they're tech person can actually do something about it. Who knows?

Does it sound weird that I say I have a filter build into my head? lol

Nowadays......I think a lot of 7th and 8th graders know more swear words than the adults, and they probably learn it from their parents. For example.....I have a neighbor who has 4 little kids.....and sometimes I'm amazed to hear how he talks to them.....he yells at his kids constantly, and uses very disgusting language when he's yelling at them.....like the "F" word......those kids don't need to hear that kind of smut. Hearing people use swear words doesn't really offend me.....it's just annoying.....because there is always a better choice of words to use. I'm just kinda curious to know why axil seems to enjoy offending people. By the way ....I like your potato chip draw.....it's kinda cool.....:)
enirroc (edited Mar 11, 2010)
Hmm, well, my mom could easily pass as a sailor with her choice of words, but I'm relatively pleased with how I've turned out. Words are just words. But I respect the fact that some choose not to like them, it just interests me as to why those words are said to be so bad to begin with. Everyone to their own though. Everyone finds different things annoying. And I don't think axil always says things just to offend people, I think he just speaks his mind more frequently than the rest of us. I admire that.

And NODorGDI5, that's not weird at all, I have one too. lol.
firecracker (Mar 11, 2010)
I've often wondered too....where words got their start.....like...who invented the bad words, and who was the one who determines which words are bad words and which ones aren't.
enirroc (Mar 11, 2010)
Exactly, it's interesting. Maybe some guy wayyyyy back in time just didn't like the sound of certain words, and he had a bunch of power, and used it to ban those certain words, but some people rebelled, having kept the 'bad word saying tradition' alive, and here we are today, lol.
backmagicwoman (edited Mar 11, 2010)
People are how they are..you just gotta accept them that way or leave them be..I like how Axil is..at least he's honest..and if we were all that honest then things around here would so much more interesting and a lot less boring...
firecracker (Mar 11, 2010)
Well, I don't know how honest axil is.......what annoys me most about him is his vulgar mouth......sometimes he reminds me so much of my first husband.....they are so much alike. My husband could really use the worst profanity and vulgar words that I ever heard anybody say.....and axil is the same way. I think my husband used those smutty words to make an impression on people....like it made him look like a tough guy, or maybe he wanted it to make him look intimidating......but believe me....he had a vocabulary that only axil can relate to. When he was sober......he was ok....not too much vulgarity.....but when he would be drinking...that's when he would really get vulgar.....especially in a bar where he thinks he was making an impression on people. He also had a favorite little "phrase" that he would say occasionally.....but it is so disgusting....that I wouldn't want to repeat what he would say. Anyways......I agree that people are how they are.....you can't change them....so you either accept them or forget them. Axil is who he is, and if he's happy that way....then "so be it"..... I do enjoy my silly little "sparring" matches with him and flubadub......it does sortof liven things up around here a bit...."LOLZ"!! :)
Pantera (Mar 12, 2010)
NODorGDI5 I hope you can find a site that uses language filters :)

In my opinion this is not a safe site for children because of the language used by people like Axil and the other idiots that think swearing is required to get their point across. There are no filters here for language but there are filters for drawings but not everyone uses them.

Seriously BMW "Honesty" is not measured by cursing, not where I come from anyway.

firecracker (Mar 12, 2010)
I think a good website for kids to draw would be sketchfu.com. There are lots of kids that draw there, and I don't think there is any vulgar language going on there. They have monitors there, and one of the monitors is a great artist herself....and she can draw the most amazing little bears. Kids of all ages draw there. They don't have the cool "tools" that 2Draw has.....but it's still a fun place to go. This 2Draw website is a great place to draw.....but I do think it's more adult orientated place.
