That iridescent green is wonderful!
Flubbles (edited Nov 17, 2009)
I thought about drawing a hummingbird the other week...did you know their the only species that can fly backwards?
Suntan (Nov 17, 2009)
Yes, the iridescence is nice, elly! I knew they could fly backwards, Flub. Around here, there are so many, Ruby Throated. I think that's the name.

Thanks, enjoy, flubs, and sunny! We've got many here too...the sound their wings make is more like a buzz, like a monstermungus bee or something! They're soooo tiny too! Such fun to watch....if they hang around long enough to get a good look at them =)

I have these bushes around my porch and i can watch the humminbirds flitter around it from my kitchen pretty...

I've never seen flowers like this before. Where are you located?? Do you know what they're called? These flowers are what caught my eye first rather than the bird!

I am in south carolina...I wanna say that it's red honeysuckle but I can't be 100 % sure...cause it just grows wild ..
davincipoppalag (Nov 17, 2009)
Very pretty!

Thanks ((Dave))
bmw, We've got plenty of yellow & white honeysuckle here in GA but I've never seen red before. Wish we had it too! Got plenty of kudzu and we had a trumpet vine for a while but it took over everything so we cut it back. The flowers on it look similar to these but don't have the little white petals at the tips.
