Black_Bird (Jun 23, 2009)
(I really had no idea where I was going with this one, during the process I ended up making a short story from it, maybe if I come up with more ideas for the story possibly continue...)The year is 3051. It is a dark and stormy night in the bustling city. Detective Williams walks down a long, dim lit alley way that he believes may contain a lead to his current case. Half way down the alley is a bar with no name, however there is a neon symbol of the Libra scales that hangs above the automatic sliding doors, tinted to near black. He enters slowly, brushing the drops of rain off his suit as his eyes scan the room quietly. The room is full of what appeared to be high-class businessmen and waitresses in skimpy black dresses. Williams seats himself by a table that is near the bar. He sighs as he observes the people in the room, not finding anyone of description to what he was told. He decides to order a drink to help pass time as it was only 11pm, still considered early for night life in this city. Williams notions to a waitress as she walks over, "What can I get for ya hon?" "Just a Gin, Lime and Soda." Williams replies, as he looks to her eyes. "Sure thing" The waitress scribbles to her PDA. As she begins to walk away Williams blurts, "Uh, wait!" The waitress turns around, "Oh, something else?" Williams holds two cards to the waitress, "I know this place has a reputation for information..." He pauses before the waitress cut him off, "It will cost you." Williams really didn't want to blow his cover as an authority so he displayed near his thigh a package with unknown contents to which the waitress quickly took under her tray as she knelt down. "I am after a person by the name of BlackBird, to my understanding so far, this person seems to be targetting high class Poker Players and after killing them, leaves their last winning hand on them...I believe if I can collect near a full deck, I can narrow down who he may target next..." "...and how many cards do you have so far?" The waitress looked to him with a blank expression. "30."
