Begin with different color lines, vertically or horizontally...as many as you'd like, whatever colors suit your fancy!

Secondly, angle the brush and put some lines down randomly in a different direction...oh this is gonna be fun!

Third, by angling the brush to the right now, and choosing the DIFFERENCE tool with opacity and flow on full and only the anti-alias chosen, put down as many lines/colors as you wish.

Now using the DIFFERENCE tool, with BOTH anti-alias and blend chosen, use a circular brush (or whatever, that's what I used) and either in a circular motion or line motion (I used both) color over the canvas as much as you'd like. I used red, blue and orange...but, this is only the beginning.....

I would suggest that you get as MANIC as you possibly can when doing this step. Using the DIFFERENCE tool and both sometimes (anti-alias and blend) or occasionally unclick the blend....Use a round brush (any size, or different sizes, like I used here) go absolutely NUTS on your canvas with swirls, scribbles, lines...don't keep your pen down on the tablet, purposely lift it up and then down and around and around, choosing many different colors in the process. Listening to some great music in the background is a plus....but, no, we're not finished yet.....unless of course you LOVE it as is, then VOILA! but, I'm not happy yet...

ok...so here, I've sort of seperated it into a beginning of what will become a scene (hopefully!)..the best thing about this is you never know what you're gonna get...yep, just like in Forest Gump...hahaha....here, I used pretty much more of the same technique's I've been describing. Just remember to change the direction of your brush, and back/forth between anti-alias and blend for different looks. You can't screw it up...trust me.....watch this change.....

Lastly, you just have to play around with it until you like it. You can add different effects at your whim...just have fun! :o)
ps..I'm STILL not sure this is done...but good enough to stop for now.

This is great stuff, dj. Very interesting. Have I ever told you to take a look at the work of Eric Carle? I think you'd really enjoy it if you don't know him already. :)
