... later in the evening as you lie awake in bed, with the echos of the amplifiers ringin in your head, you smoke the days last cigarette, remebering what she said...

Axil62 (edited Mar 20, 2009)
wow, very nice of you to say. thank you, Suntan.

Edit: I was posting my thank you as BMW was posting her comment and it looks like I'm slighting BMW by specifically naming Suntan in my thank you so I would now like to officially include BMW in the aforementioned thank you reply.

Know what I like about your art? Besides the skill and your keen eye? The fact that you go outside the trampled path. It would never come to my mind to draw someone in the angles that you do.

I was just wondering Axil...did u like this song bettter when Bob Seger did it.. I think both of them brought something great to it and i was fortunate enough to grow up in a home where my early childhood encompassed Bob Seger and ZZ top anf Tony Joe White and those of the like..but as I got older to my late teens i went more towards heavy metal and alternative..and now I listen to both...lol .anyway just curious...

blackmagicwoman: I don't think there is any real reason to choose unless you clearly do not like one or the other. For me I have those days when I feel like driving way too fast and cranking up the volume to a ridiculous level wit the windows rolled down in a sort of "FUCK YOU SOCIETY!" kind of mood (probably when I'm feel powerless). I'd rather listen to heavy metal at those times. Other times I like to sit in the dark alone and listen with the volume at a reasonable level and think. So I guess what I'm trying to say in a long winded round about way is that it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in, but in most cases I tend to stick to the original (or what I "grew up" hearing as the original" versions of songs. They have more power to let me time travel as it were. Lots of times songs take me back to people, places and times.

In case you're interested, this is the mood I'm in today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7-haKkFnT8
I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I know of.

I can reate to a lot of those same things...The older vrsions definitely take me back to my childhood when things were much simpler and I do tend to listen to more heavy metal when I am felling angry or depressed...I'm thankful that we have both and it fascinates me to watch my children grow up and love the same bands and musicians that I have loved for so long..My son will be 15 next month and he loves to listen to everything i do even though more than most of it was way befor his time..just goes to show..Awesome music endures and u can't get rid of the greats...Wow..she's amazing..I added it to my playlist and am gonna do back and listen to some of her other songs...This is how I have been feeling on off for several months now...

What a great draw.....and I really enjoyed listening to all of the music video links posted here. Music and art are two of my most favorite interests. I grew up loving music, and I still love it today. I really love the voice of Eva Cassidy....I have a cd by her, and I have a couple of old record albums by LynrydSkynrd....they are great. I also really liked that video "Ode".....the music was beautiful.....and I really like that beautiful horse in the video. Great draw and music!!! :)
