welcome darry. not a bad draw, but the advanced board is reserved for the elite draws. fyi

Miss DJ, careful what you say. :D
I wonder why so many newbies sport so much self-overestimating.
Miss_DJ (Mar 1, 2009)
I don't know, all I can do is humbly draw on boards that reflect my ability. It took one moderator, early on, to move one of my draws from intermediate to beginner, for me to recognize my 'place' here. I wonder if they are still monitoring?

This draw isn't all that bad.....nice looking teeth anyways. It doesn't really bother me what "board" people draw on.....I know that I try to pick a "board" for the "size" that I want the picture to be. If I want to draw a little picture...I'll pick "beginner's" board.....and if I want to draw a medium size picture....I'll use the "intermediate" board.....but for a really big picture.....you have no choice but to choose the "advanced" board, even if your draw is not good enuff to be "Advanced"....if you want a BIG picture.....you have to use the advanced board. Anyways.....what does it matter what board people use....it's all art. "LOL"!!! :)
Miss_DJ (Mar 1, 2009)
Well, I guess it mattered to Marcello or he wouldn't have made the determination of which board is to be used dependent upon the ability of the drawer. It matters, too, because the art is 'grouped' as such to distinguish it from one type of drawing level to the next. I also like the idea of improving as an artist, and moving 'up' to the next level. Just my 2 cents.
firecracker (Mar 1, 2009)
Well, I'm wondering why Marcello doesn't just make it easy for anyone to draw any size picture they want in all the boards. Then there would be no problem with people choosing an advanced board just to get the size that they want. I feel most comfortable drawing in the intermediate section.....but it doesn't go any higher than 600 x 600. Sometimes I need a bigger board than that....so that's why I had no choice but to go to the advanced boards. I don't understand why there is a limit put on the size of the board that you want to use. If I remember correctly.....I think it used to be that way here at 2Draw.....I think I remember coming here a long time ago, and there were no limits put on the sizes of the boards. I wonder why it changed?? Anyways.....I'm not arguing with anyone......I really enjoy drawing here.....I just wish there weren't any limits on the size of the boards that you want to draw on. Maybe Marcello would consider changing that ...so there wouldn't be any limits on the size of the board that you want to draw on?? Would you please think about it?

MissDJ"....I agree with you....I, too like the idea of improving as an artist, and moving "up" to the next level.....but I don't know why there has to be a "size" limit for the different boards....that's all . Anyways....I guess that's my "2 cents".

firecracker: Marcello pays for this site, the more bandwidth you want for a site, the more you have to pay. A larger "canvas" takes up more bandwidth. He used to have a link for donating to the site, I don't know what happened to that, but basicly the idea is to not waste bandwidth on crap.
Miss_DJ (Mar 1, 2009)
yep, now that makes sense, Axil.
firecracker (Mar 1, 2009)
"OK"....I understand now....I didn't know there was a "cost" involved. It makes sense to me now, so I won't complain any more about it. That's a good idea to not waste bandwidth on crap, but so far, most of the draws that I've seen posted here are really awesome....I love browsing thru all the pictures......but I have to agree...I've seen some pretty "crappy" ones posted here too. Thank you "Axil" for explaining this to me.....and thank you "Marcello" for having such a great website. :)

Here's a WONDERFUL example of an advanced drawing for anyone who may be confused:

And a comment from our site owner:

Well, if you plan on making it advanced, I'll leave it, otherwise it will get moved. My only concern here is that I don't want people abusing the extra canvas size of the advanced board if they have no intention of making an advanced drawing.
