Contest Week 95: Musical Portraits (10 days)

Paint a portrait of a musician in the style of their music. The portrait should be the focal point of your entry but you can draw other elements and symbols around the portrait if you wish, just make sure the "musical expression" is coming through in the portrait itself. You can do this in any style you want, realistic, caricature, abstract, as long as I get a sense of what the musician looks like and what their music sounds like. If the musician is a soft sounding, soulful R&B singer, I want to get a sense of that in the portrait. If the musician is a crazy, chaotic death metal guitarist, I want to get a sense of that in the portrait. These contests are made to encourage you to try harder but they're ultimately just for fun. Give it a shot and enjoy the process. :)

JUDGING CRITERIA:

Creativity: The amount of imagination, originality and expressiveness that was put into the entry.
Technique & Effort: The amount of style, skill and craft that was put into the entry.
Following the theme: How well the entry followed the theme of the contest.

theres not enough entries on this one to judge, im sure if people entered more it wouldnt linger on.

Update/Notice: I'm not running the contest board anymore. I imagine Marcello or someone else will take over at some point, we'll see. I may run it again sometime in the future when I'm less busy but right now, I just don't have the time for it. Thanks to all who entered the last contest, because of lack of entries, the contest was not judged.

Aw, now I wish I'd taken the time to participate in some :(
But it was still a lot of fun to see other people enter! Your ideas were always so creative, and that certainly rubbed off on the art. Thanks for all of your hard work!

i wish i had participated in some more contests too..always so busy...I could participate now though..seeing as how i don't have a job anymore...
