Since one of them is the golden ratio, the results should be with one consent.
I'm sometimes wondering whether we are just saying something looks aesthetic because we recognize the golden ratio. And that it is not actually sensible if you don't know about it. I find it crazy how so many simply accept 1.618033989... as THE aesthetic rule although I haven't read of many studies regarding that topic. The origin of the golden ratio lies in geometry...and later on some dudes decided to call it the universal aesthetic rule. It seems like gourmet food to me... and I don't like gourmet food. |

It sounds like a load of bollocks to me, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! everybody has a different preference.

Flubbles: Very true. There are many other variables that the "golden ratio" doesn't factor in.
Dan: I don't think Jessica Simpson is very attractive but I don't think she's ugly either. Symmetry is certainly a determining factor of anatomical beauty but it's only one piece of the puzzle. |
