Wooo, I like it, a background wouldn't hurt. Even just some other color than the hard white would make it stand out better.

The mouse excuse is cheap, you either can use it or you can't but if your only going to spend a few minutes on a piece then there's no reason to send. Nuff said.

Its not the mouse that makes this crap, its the amount of time, or rather lack of time spent on it that makes it not good. If you ask me this person is either verrrry young or, likes to get his/her stuff on all boards. After being told not to use the intermediate board, a drawing is posted on the advanced board.
And JK I too am guilty of commenting on this, rather than on your really good work, amma gonna fix that right now. Pieces with obviously less effort put in it evoke more comments than original, or really good things.

Ahh, nice~ I like the glowy background effect you've got goin on.... but I also agree with abbysalghost, some shading would certainly give it more depth, maybe.

You really have to spend more than 10 minutes on a piece. This isn't doodledraw. The rules say at least 30 minutes. And you can put more effort into them as well. If all you going to do is doodle there are other sites, or you DON'T HAVE to submit them.

I'll say it again. Spend more time and put more effort into your pieces. If your just going to doodle try other sites or don't bother sending. If your unsure read the rules.

Cute. It´s not that bad, have a look at my first pictures! Add more colour and detail next time and make the canvas bigger. Also do a background or something, right now it´s kind of just floating around! hehe

When doing a portrait it's a good idea to block everything in 1st.

Blocking in is basically just sketching the shape of the head and finding the location of the facial features.
Everything can be broken down into shapes. measure the head and placement of the facial features with an eye, a nose, the mouth.
make sure everything is the right size in relation to the things around it.
Do this on it's on layer then draw over it on a new layer.

Ohh, black and white--Impossible for me to do. I think the pose is nifty, and her costume is * C U T E *
Her hand is half-holding a stick, though.... maybe close her fingers a little tighter, there? Unless, of course, that was intentional... There are no right answers in art, just opinions. (Can't remember where I got that from, but it's a real butt-saver when offering criticism!)
All in all, a nice picture, reminds me of those tight-rope walkers in travelling cirques. ^_^

I highly highly recommend you stay away from the fill button unless absolutely necessary because it will cause those little rough white lines and makes it look grainy. If you want lines to stand out against black you can try doing them in a dark grey then use the layers to color underneath! This is a very cute piece-keep it up!
