what does layering do?

With layers you can create depth in a picture by building up shading from far to near, and you can do an area and save it..and then open a new layer for more without touching what you have saved on the layer beneath. Its a nice feature. It does use alot of space though..
umi (May 3, 2004)
you can draw a picture this good without using layers? that's pure skill!!

can anyone comment on whats wrong with this? I can't seem to sort it out
umi (May 3, 2004)
It's good but the connection between the hand and wrist/arm is to abrupt. The hand should sorta slant into the wrist, and the wrist should be a bit thicker. Good pic anyway!
reenaleena (May 4, 2004)
thankyou, :) I find it well hard to see whats wrong with stuff that i draw, i just find hands SO hard!!

It's cute, and I like the idea, but the girl with the red shirt's face is a little off - try shortening her forehead and maybe giving her more shaped lips? Anywho, the whole pic is really awesome - and in one sitting, too!

I spent a really long time on this one picture, but then I notice something wrong with it...it said I had used up my space for it and couldnt revise? anyway, im not worried about that, im worried about the fact it didnt show up on the board, only on the user board. does anyone know whats going on?

anyway, ah...despair. now we have malice and despair. what comes next?

It's cute! I love her eyes, they have that sort of gothic feel. Sorta like Count Cain's, except this is a little more simple...
strawberry (May 3, 2004)
good drawing, i liked how you used cross hatching for shading, gives it a good effect. i just want to point one thing out though, you missed the "P" on the word DESPAIR that's on the picshure.

Anyone feel like collab-ing with me? I'm more of an anime type person, but anything's fine. Feel free to memo [for faster answers], or post here and I'll be coming to see if I have any replies now and then for a hour or so. Thank you for taking the time!

That is awesome - it looks just like here, except the birds are ussually lighter colored seagulls and stuff, and the water is more of a blue than an aqua... Anywho, personally, I like it, but a bit of a contrast between the waves and the sky might look a bit better.

The MQ4 Mosquito, weighing in at a mere 35 tons, is expected to become a House Steiner standby. Although lightly armed and armored, the MQ4 is both agile and inexpensive. The 3U variant is intended primarily for peacekeeping operations in an urban environment, being equipped only with 4 MLAS and a heavy machine gun. (Scene and mech are original designs.)

well he is a sprite god :)

Raised in the school of pixel-by-pixel, I was I was. Yeah, I considered putting a traffic light in, but I thought that the wire or bar would get in the way of seeing the mech (not to mention make it more difficult for it to walk around), so we'll just assume that in the future cars have traffic directions built in. Which is cool anyway.

I love that soft, translucent appearance to your picture, and how it seems almost like a monochrome. You might want to make her mout somewhta solid though, 'cause right now it looks a little weird...
lp_phaery (Apr 29, 2004)
the pictures sooo cute. i like the translucent effect it has too.
Xodiak (Apr 29, 2004)
I like very very much the soft watercolour blur around the lineart. I have seen the style from a few more artists and I believe that it is very pretty and dreamy. You made such a beautiful drawing! Either boy or girl, the person looks very cute. >:D
