What an imaginative title eh?
-_- I think I seriously need a tablet... This was a pain to color with a mouse.

I worked on this off and on while on the phone and doing other stuff. Reference: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27255921/ Just for fun and it gave me a reason to dust off my old Wacom.

Very effective especially considering the small size and roughness of the stroke quality. The sheet looks really good in the thumb. Nice job on foreshortening, too. How'ju get so much detail in the face? I think my pixels must be bigger than yours. *grumble*
suzie (Feb 27, 2006)
I like the roughness of this..nice contrast to the delicate detail of her face..works for me! :D

Through the magic of the "Soft" tool, I smoothed the image out a bit.

I liked it better before the blurring *noddles* but otherwise very good. :D

Lovely. You've captured the essence of the original but made it very much your own at the same time. Yummy palette.
davincipoppalag (Feb 27, 2006)
Very pretty drawing Rosemary. I like the soft colors you used

I love this; the angle, the lighting, the beautiful detailing--everything. Oh, and Dustin Hoffman, of course.

Really pretty, i love the bright colours :)
Satern (Mar 7, 2006)
Lovely little kingfishers, nicely picking up the wing colour in the eyes :) and a nice looking tree, the fluggy green looks a bit strange though :D.
Miss_DJ (Apr 21, 2006)
gorgeous!
hankjmatts (edited May 27, 2010)
You always have nice texture work going on. If you combine smooooth and nice texture, you've got a Lauryn piece in front of you :).

He's making a new friend????
JoeNobody (Feb 26, 2006)
Gigandas, the inspiration for Larry came from a comment made HERE . From then on most of the episodes came from comments or just where I felt like taking him.

Of course he's just doing a classic figure study. There's no way he can get in trouble for that.......is there?
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 26, 2006)
Larry's sketch is quite tasteful, although I'm sure his wife will try to deflate him again, anyway. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing what Larry will do next.
kejoco (Mar 1, 2006)
I think Gigandas is referring to a little sketch on seasame street.
The guy was part of a glass and had a theme song.
...
I just found this teeny little super guy

terracotta (Feb 26, 2006)
Whaaaaat? Huh? Did you bribe someone to get a gradient fill tool? Wow. Love the colours, the shading, the composition and me? I love any kind of a fish story. Great stuff.
davincipoppalag (Feb 26, 2006)
Laurael is the smoothest blender on here Greta..she's amazing at it as you can see.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 26, 2006)
I think you are absolutely, positively right. Were I a mermaid you wouldn't catch me at a crab fight wearing clam shells on my chest. This is the R rated version of Ariel, I love it... hah.

Imperfect (Oct 3, 2011)
So amazing. One of the most beautiful photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.
dorothyblueeyes (Oct 7, 2011)
Very beautiful. I think I know the difference between me and many of the other painters here, now.For example, this is very smooth, finished, and slick. It' very professional. Good job. I do not tend to like going all the way to smooth, finished, and photo-like. I like the paint(figuratively) to look and feel like paint.I even like it similar to paint, messy and gooey. And there seems to be a tendency here, to like everything very smooth, slick, and finished. Guess I am out of the groove. I just like allowing for different styles, and different veiwpoints of what painting and drawing is.
Teapot (Apr 5, 2016)
Actually, Dot, this is quite impressionistic compared to the photograph, not an attempt at photo-realism at all.
