Nice apple.. have you (somehow) created a brush that comes with those little straight lines?

if you hold alt and rclick inside the brush editor you can make a thin (long or short) brush. holding ctrl and r rclick will let you angle the brush. setting the spacing tool slider 'C:' to about 1/3 in creates the 'lines'. using jtablet opacity sensitivity with blend checked gives the stutter gradient color effect.

New colour combos for you...all that navy blue/purple in the skin tones. Love how you've used the rusty brown to move our eye around the canvas. The lights in this are pure Roytje and such a pleasure. So sad when a piece like this gets only 8 comments. Hope it got more viewing at DA.

whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. whoawhoawhoa. impressive on two counts..one: its very 'painterly' yet nice and crisp, a style i admire. two: the small details are fabulous. using a photo ref the camera picks up so much more that we cant paint on canvas or it will look off. congrats on getting that perfect amount of contrast to insinuate all the details in the photo.
