Helnwein...Helnwein...:O YES! I know who he is! I read a good book about him, and his paintings. It was him who did the medical pictures, right? And those images of famous people that were so dark you could only see in just the right light. This is goooood, Cindy, goooood.

you use the other side of the brain? you mean, just take a picture, and view it very objectively, minus any meaning to the picture? your brain just photographs it literally?

It results in forcing you to see more accurately what you're looking at rather than drawing a preconceived notion of what something looks like. Everyone does that unconsciously. We have handles like that on the doors in my house. Fortunately, we don't have a simliar paint job. But for this picture, the colors are awesome. Blue and orange is one of my favorite color combinations, even though I dislike orange for the most part. I think my favorite part of this is the shine on the door above the handle, the whole gradations of it. Nice and smooth, I like it when you spend time and put some foreplay into it.

This is a great pic. It is a little bit melancholy feeling. But don't we all feel that way sometimes. I like the contrast of the soft edges of the shirt, background and such vs. the sharpness of the face and hair. |
