First painting on 2draw... this was fun!Photo ref: http://www.public-domain-image.com/still-life/slides/cherry-cherries-fruit.jpg
626elemental (Aug 16, 2011)
Thanks guys! I've been painting for a while, but just as a hobby :)Yeah... seems like cherries are the most popular still life around here. It's pretty cool to see all the different interpretations of the same subject.

So the message you are sending to me by replying like that (instead of just the girl I asked for, which you did, followed by a number of other drawings, all of which I can provide photos of I found), is that once a drawing has been done by someone using a reference pic found on an image search, it cannot be done ever again by anyone else? No matter how many times? What nerve have I hit with you that has you aimed at trying to save the internet from my few and crappy drawings? Do they really make that much of an impact to you? I'm surprised someone is paying so much attention to my drawings actually, so thanks for that. But I'm not sorry for doing something I enjoy, which is drawing what I feel like, and if you can't deal with that, then don't reply to any of my drawings ever again unless it is something positive or constructive.
shell (Aug 5, 2011)
Aw :) See but you're being unfair. I did suggest us dropping this when I said "nevermind". The way I see it it's a he said she said situation in which there are no winners and there's basically no solution to it other than agreeing to disagree. But then you had to insinuate I mean spiritedly tried to publicly dishonor you or something to that extent by not having a more private discussion beforehand. I beg to differ, see the way I remember it is I did bring this to your attention before and you replied "Flubbles and Axil62 are a real inspiration to me. Generally when I view their drawings I like the photo they would of used so I go on google image search and search for the photo, doing my own version of it" which I didn't buy but let slide. Going back to current matters, me linking examples of what I thought were evidence of me not making this up was merely brought on by you linking examples to argue your side of the story. You tell yours I tell mine and we each bring arguments to back up our telling otherwise we can just go on and make up all kinds of jiberish that has nothing to do with reality whatsoever. I'm not "out to get you" :) I was just reacting to your reaction but I doubt you'll ever admit to anything so things will just get increasingly aggravating and I think this has been dragged on long enough. Unless you reply with something that will force me to reply back and so on and so forth. But I think it is best to drop it and so I will try very hard to ignore any future impulse to write something back. Happy drawing :D
Black_Bird (Aug 5, 2011)
I did write that actually so I am not sure what it is you think I am not admitting to? Your reply didn't suggest you didn't buy it. In fact I have posted the photo references for a few of them in the links above, so I am not sure what else you are after as proof. Everything I have written above makes perfect sense and I haven't just replied out of opinion. You have made a claim to me copying others works directly, when in fact I have been able to show I go off the original work. I'd hate to see what you'd be like in a life drawing class. Would you tell the other people drawing a nude person in the same room as you to not do so because you are drawing them? That would be great if you could leave me alone and find something better to do with your time, because unlike your 'suggestion' I flat out told you, "I'm not sorry for doing something I enjoy, which is drawing what I feel like, and if you can't deal with that, then don't reply to any of my drawings ever again unless it is something positive or constructive." so by all means, ladies first.

Thank you The Patches. I'm sure eventually I would have figured it out, but then I would have to reinstall photoshop, and install one of those onscreen picture programs that takes pictures of your desktop.

Or you could've just hit the "PrtScr" key on your keyboard then opened a new file in MS Paint and pasted the screenshot then used the eye dropper to get a sample of the background color and checked its RGB values by accessing Colors - Edit Colors - Define Custom Colors. I'm just sayin.
Wraith (edited Jul 2, 2011)
@ Shell: Ok that's cool. I did not know you could do that with MS Paint. But where can you get the RGB values?Edit* Sweet thanks for the info Shell!

Lovely. I'm looking at the sky after reading your question re brightness. The only thing about it that strikes me is the center of the meadow is quite brightly lit so the sky seems dark in that regard. The tones in version 5 seem to work well together. But, having said that, I really like the way you did the sky, like the sun is trying to break through overcast. The colours in this are what it looks like around here...autumn. Good luck learning Lascaux. I still haven't made friends with it after 6 years.
shults (Nov 3, 2011)
lori- It'd be nice to paint it on a canvas, but it's not something I'd like to see on a wall.. I prefer abstracts for that.Teapot- I like the old feeling the redness gave it, but I realize that I've lost many of the colors from the 5th ver.. and I like Lascaux, but I don't know its tools like sharp/blur/scatter/dodge/burn etc.
dorothyblueeyes (Nov 3, 2011)
beautiful, sorry my hebrew is so rusry.

Beautiful piece, really skillful. I love the subdued colors of it, and its atmosphere, so lovely...I wouldn't mind this piece on my wall, haha. |

True, it is really cool...very "Primary" as far as the colors, but also "Primeval" and eye-catching in a way I'm not sure how to describe.

It's 3D. Nice. Wow you were right Axil62, Marcello does have the adds setup pretty well.

Yeah yeah...groovy man, groovy.

Well, one of the adds did say something about 3D art. Now it's something totally different. |

Beautiful portrait, and this guy could easily become the next James Bond in the movie role. WOW. ha ha. (do young guys still wear their hair long now? ) C'mon, any female online would be tempted to give this guy her phone no. and email. --or some guys would want it, too. It's just human nature to have someone get lovesick over a lovely portrait on the net. People used to go to dances, and singles' stupid gettogethers, and the first people to be picked up, would be the good looking ones. Face it, he's going to get the girls throwing themselves at him! But I do not approve of the way young girls chase guys so desperately these days, instead of manipulating the guys so they chase THEM. I[ve never seen women who throw themselves at guys, and chase them, ever really succeed at getting them. that's because men like to think it's THEY who are doing the chasing and the choosing.
