"For you know not what to say, for duty calls your sweethearts name again, and your heart need not be a sighing if I be among the dying, I'll be with you when the roses bloom again. When the roses bloom again beside the river, the mocking bird has sung his sweet refrain. In the days of old langsyne, I'll be with you sweetheart mine, I'll be with you when the roses bloom again.

With the rattle of the battle came a whistler soft and low, a soldier who had fallen in the fray. I am dying, I am dying and I know I have to go, but I want to tell you before I pass away. There's a far and distant river where the roses are in bloom, a sweetheart who is waiting there for me. It is there I pray you take me, I've been faithful, don't forsake me...I'll be with her when the roses bloom again.

I can't get past the thought that this guy looks like he's takin' a leak..... would anyone else like to work on this? I'm tired of it.... I'm callin' it done, but there is more space if someone wants to do whatever to it...

Well.. I thought those were rocks in version four and I liked those rocks. Whatever it was, it was really nice and I'm looking forward to see where you're going next with this.
Aubrey (Jun 29, 2004)
Don't give up on it.. hell you could put a fishing rod in his hands and it wouldn't look like he was takin a leak! lol And have him fishin on the edge of a lake. Who knows. Is a good start to a picture though.
laurael (Jun 29, 2004)
Nice perspective on this...you are way too hard on yourself! Stop that at once and finish this. Do what Aubrey said and have him fishing... :]
LovelyLori (Jun 29, 2004)
hmmm no one wants to work on this huh? lol... whatever will I do with it? maybe the fishin' rod.... maybe something totally unexpected.... hmm....

I don't know if I want to paint/color this or not. I'll probably have to if I don't want it moved.

I liked V1 better...the figure was the center of interest, the bg kinda camouflages it some..

I like the colors and coloring technique you've used in these last few drawings. It seems to work with these great characters.
davincipoppalag (Jun 27, 2004)

The Infinate feeling of complete beauty, flawless in every way and perfect beyond all words imaginable. *ramble-ramble-ramble* I just wanted to try something different...more scenery this time instead of character depictions. :D

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices -- to be found in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own -- for the children and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.
Rod Serling (1924 - 1975)

I believe he was one of the most creative geniuses of our time, and changed the way we view the world. This one is for the others who were knob-clicking, rabbit-ear adjusting kids who loved him like I did.

(I couldn't find any one reference picture that I was happy with, so I just sort of combined stuff I found)

--to which I might add, that many ideas have died on the vine, cause, basically,"with wisdom alone you don;'t go to market."this guy needed a tv. network, and cash,or else the twilight zone would just be an idea in a notebook,in the trash. Even microsoft needed some money to get started. Its one of the main reason we "babyboomers"were so creative,in the 60's,the economy was good, there were jobs,ect.ect. We had the fuel. Gotta have the fuel. It'll be interesting to see what happens to creativity in this era,in the US,and the future;already reality shows on t.v. stink to the Heavens, ugh.TV has never been so bad.Reality shows cost less to make,no writers to pay.But tv stinks so bad,I rarely watch it. During the 60's,we had so much good tv, it was dizzying. sigh.Twilight Zone looks so good now.
