Specialty Boards/Contest!
Alex-Cooper (Apr 8, 2007)
??? mixed with a wolf. If you can't guess who it's supposed to be, then i guess i'm doing a bad job so far. The tricycle kid is enough of a hint.

Nice work, you should color it.
Punky (Apr 14, 2007)
Indeed, getting eaten by a wolf is quite a thrill.
This is amazing, I love expressions, on both Jack and tricycle kid. Also your amazing linework.

lovely!!

Congratulations TheCrimsonKing (Joe), "Ashley Judd" is awarded first place for Contest Week 49: Hollywood Animals. This is a classic CK piece, it screams his style. I think many of us on 2Draw have come to expect CK's work to be clean, professional and precise, this piece is certainly a great example of those qualities. Her face is so well drawn, it's definitely recognizable as Ashely Judd. And this piece is so cool, I think Childlike Vampire's comment says it best "She looks like wolverines kid or something". The Wolverine like hair is very cool, as well the elongated neck, she is indeed a very attractive cat lady. Well done Joe.
Miss_DJ (Apr 16, 2007)
CONGRATULATIONS!! nice work on this piece!

This is for Davincipoppalaq who asked me to explain in as plain an english as possible how to do the trick involving angling and shaping all the brushes (including erasure) Since it's always easier to understand visuals then things written down (and I'm not sure if I explained it right) I did this. I hope it's self explanatory and makes sense now Dave. Sorry for the messy hand, I wasn't trying for picture perfect.

ohmygoodness...this is just unreal. I can't believe you drew all those things..lol..you're a patient and great artist, lady!
zep (Feb 12, 2007)
besides the excellent tutorial...i´ve found the way you did the image it´s quite impressive.
MARLONSEPPALA (Feb 25, 2007)
Okay Sweetcell But I think an old Advert use to play in the 60's on the tele.
It would show a few drawings that grew out of the top of a tree and at the end
A person would say where would we be without Art.
the Science, and Technology of the World always refers to Art for a Model to use.
Mal (Apr 13, 2007)

I won't be wearing anything like this for a few weeks. I couldn't walk on my foot this morning so I had to go get an xray. I broke a chunk out of my ankle bone and tore ligaments in my foot. It hurts it hurts it hurts it HURTS.

This piece has come a long way in regards to detail, great job.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 4, 2007)
Thank you, Juno. I just now saw that this is a new quarter/gallery... and that this horrid thing is the only picture I have in there, and my initial thought was "how embarrassing"... and then I realized that it's okay, because later I'll be happy when I see it and remember those of you that said nice stuff even though the picture really kind of sucks. Then I thought to myself... it looks like you posted it just because you were hurt and you wanted attention... and then I realized... Yeah, I guess I did, and some people here were nice enough just to give it to me. Thanks again, ya'll. :)
Cameo (Apr 8, 2007)
Sorry bout that Cindy! ((((Cindy)))) Hope you feel better soon! Good work!
Sweetcell (Apr 9, 2007)
Oh Cindy be whiney, be cranky, Lord knows with all the hel you've been through your deserving to be so. Besides, you have a larger happier stronger outlook on life that superceded any bad moments. Something I admire in you. That youcould see the humour after youbroke it speaks volumes. (I can't believe the crutches made things worse. Try having the screws turned inward. And hey is all else fails cover them in duct tape, then it'll just rub against you, and not rip anything.)

You captured the greeny color of an exray well here. Don't think it's bad, cause it aint.

quick lascaux-related flickering thing
Nightmare (Apr 7, 2007)
Lascaux is constantly flickering while I am using it. Is this affecting anyone else, or is this of my own doing?

with the new vista and smoother new look of a lot of webpages, does anyone else think 2draw is beginning to look dated?

frootcake (Apr 2, 2007)
i basically meant making use of the new gradient tool, like in most apple icons, or the new windows media player.
I saw the facebook preview of what changes they're making, and sites like www.last.fm, even youtube have gradient'd elements.
also the new gta4 trailer (and logo) and these new ps3's and xbox elites, everything has sex appeal. When I look at 2draw, i think of davincipoppa
plasticwrap (Apr 2, 2007)
yeah but do you know how much they slow down the system? yeah i bet not.
simple- is a lot easier to use.
Kloxboy (Apr 2, 2007)
Well, I agree the logo could use an upgrade but the current logo isn't too bad.

plasticwrap: What are you talking about? The amount of gradients or colors in a logo hardly determines on how fast a logo loads on the internet and if it does, it's barely detectable. Size is what makes the difference, that will determine load time for that specific image. Or the way it was put on the internet. Flash too could make loading take longer but that's a different matter.

Lascaux Sketch Pro
marcello (Feb 10, 2007)
So fine users of Lascaux Sketch (and perhaps those of oekaki shi painter), I make an offer to you. I'm contemplating doing a reworking of Lascaux Sketch (not from the ground up, but a bit of retooling) of which I am tentatively calling Lascaux Sketch Pro. I imagine some of the big new features would be a better brush system (smoother and supporting decimal size brushes such as 1.5px), an animation system, an auto-save feature, and potentially other features as seen fit. Granted, being a b...
