Gemmy and davinci, thanks for the advoice, much appreciated.

Marcello, double thanks, sent you a memo to make sure all I have to do is just draw more on it now. I think I ran out of space because for the majority of the draw I could not get undo to work. Then I worked the problem out (the undo buffer was not set to have any space in it).
gerbear (Apr 12, 2006)
From what I understand you actually store each "drawing movement" on your hard drive. The more space you allocate to saving what you "do", the more number of "undo's" you can have. That might be totally wrong, it was just what seemed logical to me.
marcello (Apr 12, 2006)
It's totally wrong. Yep.

Stay tuned for the next episode of "As the Wacom Pen Draws"

Oh, well not surprised it is totally wrong! *L* So what is right? I know you explain things well, I actually read the Lascaux Tutorial (I know, get a life Gerbear). So 'splain please!

This fun loving character is living proof that I worked out the UNDO problem and therefore is too precious to kill off.

Thanks davinci! Glad someone else appreciates her. I have a stable of strange things in my mind and have no fear about bringing them to light! I am having fun learning the new tools.
emmamommalag (Apr 6, 2006)
She's cool, all right. Glad to see you're having fun. :D
gerbear (Apr 8, 2006)

New here. Would welcome advice on the hair. Used the blender and set the opacity low, but it still looks really fake.

I reworked the hair and it looks more natural now I think. I didn't realize you could go back into a "finished" drawing.
tandrew971 (Apr 20, 2006)
i really like that about this site..being able to go and fix something even after its finished. the hair looks great (as does the rest)
Meno (Mar 7, 2008)
Whaddaya talkin' 'bout? I like the hair .... like golden strands of wheat.
QTgillie (Jun 23, 2009)
i think how the hair is finalized is fabulous.

Another oddity from my mind. Did this because davinci said to try Lascaux program. The UNDO would not work so this drawing was done without a single UNDO. Lots of REDOS tho!! The program is pretty good, I didn't try all the features. It is kind of like Paint Shop Pro that I use offine and a mini photoshop.

Glad you tried it, ths is another fun picture .
gerbear (Apr 3, 2006)
Thanks davinci! *S* I will do alot of odd pictures i am sure!

Sweetcell..no...Marsha has no body *L* But she has great hairdos! *L* I think she would be pretty in color, I'll have to try.
DeTroy (Dec 15, 2006)
The alien Bear is a visitor to Mars and he loves to play with drums and loud things generally, plus all things sparkly. In fact he loves to have fun and to be full of joy. He spreads joy too..just by being himself, which is nice....as do some people.

Just still trying to get the tools to work. Ended up with this odd shaped canvas so made the best of it! The cloud tool is cool tho.

It reminds me of those old curlers... kinda like spools. Those were waaaaaay back, though. You probably don't even remember them. lol
DeTroy (Apr 5, 2006)
Now what Gerbear has achieved here is to perfectly amalgamate the images that in everybodies minds when you say flying saucer. Forget everything you see in films, and be honest...this is what a flying saucer would definitly look like....plus it comes with the optional extra of having a cheeky, animated quality....
DeTroy (Jul 13, 2006)
I think actually that saucer does not contain fierce monster life forms but a kind of cosmic teddy bear with a smiley happy face, just playing...discovering new worlds not for science or war but as places to play. They have grasped that the universe is to roam in not to make enemies but playmates, not to cause fear but friendship, not to show hate but love....they would have to be bears to know that...
QTgillie (Jun 23, 2009)
wow, I did not know you even had stuff here gerri. nicely done.

This is my first draw. Just playing with tools. This did not take me 3 1/2 hrs. I forgot to turn it off and left the puter for ages.

Thanks Sweetcell..pick that jaw up, you are the talented one!

DBA..oh...great initials..btw *L*..I will not fit the mold here. I will draw patterns and odd things. I teach drawing, it is kinda like being at work to do realism for me plus NO WAY could I EVER catch up to you buncha geniuses here! The work here, and yours..is beyond description.
DeTroy (edited Apr 5, 2006)
H there....I reallly love the bold and vivid use of colour here....it adds an expressive quality to the image. Now..here are the four reasons...the airfare would be too expensive............it would fade quickly in the cold..........everyone knows martians do not appreciate flowers the way we do............and it would be more luggage than there is space for in the flying saucer
You may think these are crazy reasons, but trust me they are the right ones for this image
gerbear (Apr 6, 2006)
ty DeTroy! Glad someone finally thought of some reasons! :)

I am a newbie on this site. A professional Art Teacher by trade. Mastering ANY of these drawing applets will be a challenge. They are very different from the program I use offline. This drawing ended up being an exercise in color (finding them on the RGB scale) and in composition. I will try a more realistic piece if I can master the dang tools! Very cool site tho, love the artwork here. Also, I don't currently own a Wacom pen. that would help.

Type in the comment box under "post a comment".. look down below. I like your colorful abstract piccy. Welcome to 2draw. Just keep experimenting with the tools until you get the hang of it. Try the different applets.. everybody seems to have their favorite after awhile. Different strokes for different folks.
davincipoppalag (edited Sep 26, 2004)
Welcome to 2draw.. I prefer the Lascaux applet. Once you get used to it, you will love it. Look in the wiki on this site, and there is the start of a tutorial, at least one that tells what the tools are. It will be nice to have someone here who teaches art. I haven't had any formal art training, just a class or two of "cut and paste' in college. You don't need a pen. Some of the best here never use anything but a mouse.. look at Aubrey, Axil, and several others.
emmamommalag (Sep 26, 2004)
Good luck finding that tutorial and if you do, I'd appreciate a link.
