Really cool work, with good use of line weights. It looks so clean. I also like the background choice and how faint some things are.

I like lines too... the gradation in the background is a nice touch. You have a good grasp on perspective. I struggle with it sometimes (in my real work -stuff not on here) I dig it. I also like how you have little details in a lighter shade. |

Airin: dont be afraid to ruin the artwork by adding dark colors where you feel they belong. Your colors are very very light and tentative. It looks as though you dont want to lay anything too definitive down for fear that you might ruinn the peice. I almost never paint on a pure white canvas, and almost always start with the darker areas. It looks like youve started from the lights. Make big broad strokes to define what you see... and dont be tentative... dont worry if you ruin it, you can always start over.

Yes, it's Gwyneth, not 100% true to the ref though. There are quite a few areas where i should've used darker overall tones, but it would be very difficult for me to blend that in without changing the entire picture. The eyes for instance are cast in much more shadow than i used.

When I was seven, there was a girl named Julie Lovato who lived up the hill and across the dirt road in my neighborhood. I liked her and I wanted her to like me. She wouldn't give me the time of day. I would take my Schwinn Stingray and ride it past her house on the dirt road. I would wait till I thought maybe she might be looking out the window and I would wipe out on purpose hoping she would come to nurse me and be worried about me. I got a lot of skinned knees and bruises that summer. She never did come out and sometimes I wonder if I ever really did quit trying.left crank installed and ready to roll

Claire's expertise like gold! I wish she would comment on MY peices... lucky!Schwinn's were the shit. I wish I still had mine. It was blue also, but w/ a regular seat. I could do a wheelie on it for as long as I wanted. |

theres real depth in the grass at the foreground. lovely work, looks like a photo from a circular lens camera (if those exist, i think i mean concave/convex lens w/e)

thats a really cool pic liked much.. figure looks awesome..for the rest of the pic i can say the tree behind her coming infront of her some.. prolly cause of the light effect of leaves.. also loved grasses.. pretty cool perspective...

Herro. I've been going through a bit of 'artist's block' lately and wanted to get some feedback from the great and mighty 2draw community. What do you do to keep yourself inspired? Is it other 2draw artists? Music? Traditional art? A bit of undigested cheese? Do you ever feel you are more creative based on your mood? For instance, I feel my best art has been inspired by depression, pain, and just generally hard times, emotionally. When I am happy and active, I tend to have less desire...
