The pattern of light at the top reminds m of the Northern lights. Besides that it is a wonderful light display, perhaps the Christmas star... a lovely abstract elly!

I tried to make this draw look "painterly"........I don't know if I succeeded or not......"lol"!! I used the pen tool only......I don't know if you can make draws look "painterly" using the pen tool. Any advice or criticism would be appreciated! :)

Whoa! Santa looks bigger than life standing by that tree! I'm not all that fond of the texture on the bells but I love everything else about it! Merry Christmas, firecracker!

"Wow"! I want to thank you ALL for your nice comments......I really do appreciate it! I'm glad you all like the "pic"....but some of you don't like the textured bells......maybe you're right....I might try to fix them up. That's the only place that I used the texture tool.....I thought the texture would make the bells look shinier.....but I guess it just detracts from them. Nobody said whether this pic looks "painterly" or not......I tried to make this draw have a painted look to it....sooo...how did I do???? "flubadub"....Santa is supposed to have a huge bushy beard....didn't you know that!!?? "LOLZ"! :P

Just trying to send a Holiday-Xmas-Chanukah new year card to everyone here;all you great and kinda great(includes me)artists and dabblers.Happy Chanukah to Temple Beth Israel,Eugene,Oregon,and to my friends who are Christian,or otherwise not Jewish.Have a good time,eat well,and go to after Xmas sales!!(or haunt the stores on Xmas eve,if you like doing that.)or,better yet,DON;T SHOP.Just relax,and enjoy yourselves,and DRAW. And best of Holidays,to my sister,Susie,and Sandi,and all five cats,in Berkeley,CA. Go to yoga class on Xmas,drink green tea,and meditate. hee hee. Trying out the 'Donna's Difference' tutorial... Was fun to do til the 'scene' bit... o_o I'm not sure what's going on in there myself.

Looks great so far......I don't know why, but this pic makes me think of the movie "Sleepy Hollow".....maybe it's the black horse.....the rider has his head, so I know it's not the "headless horseman".....lol. Anyways....I like the draw so far....hope to see you finish it! :)

Thanks to all for the comments so far... I draw encouragement from your support, and I feel I will need it to finish this one. DBE - unfortunately, I do not have a horse or the time to spend with people who are fortunate to own, ride, show these beautiful creatures, but I do love rendering them. This is my path of choice as far as my traditional art is concerned, and with each completed work, I am fortunate to be able to see and do more to bring the spirit and beauty of the horse to life. Thanks again everyone, and Happy Holidays!
