STARZSHINE (Feb 25, 2008)
Well this was fun for me to do, experimenting with the effects, not intending to be "realistic" but rather "stylized" again taking a bit of artistic liscence here and adding a few things and deleting a few things in order to get a composition with the "right feel" to it! again david hope you enjoy, I did, you are a gifted photographer and this is a "gift" for you!

This needs to be showcased. No really. I just think it's so awesome. The use of texture in this picture.

Hi Donna!! Glad to see you still drawing and around.
You have done a million drawings here!!! Most of them interesting and creative I am sure.
I found another spot to draw that I enjoy.
Hope you are well, take care.

This is a picture that I got from a fried on bebo, so I do not have the reference site. I have three layers here and it took a very long time because I kept getting these morph images when I would draw and even when I would toggle through the layers, a straight lined boxy image in black would appear. I had to redraw the girl at least ten times in different areas of the drawing. Is this because of my pen, this program, or a problem with my tablet? Any information would be appreciated.

QT i don't want to be mean or seem mean in any way, your image is great as everybody has said. So i hope you don't take this the wrong way, i just want to help. It seems that every time i look at this image i find that something is wrong, and it seems to me that the leg the figure is standing on is way to short in proportion to the other leg and the rest of the body...i could be that my mind is playing tricks on me or some weird optical allusion, i don't know, but from the way i see the leg is a little too short. I hope you don't hate me, i really like your drawings and hope to see much more from you in the future
QTgillie (Mar 14, 2008)
met, you are probly right,l but I got so frustrated with this pic because of the ghost shadows appearing every time I touched it, I will NOT mess with it anymore. One reason that it optically looks longer tho, (I think) is becasue the leg in the air has the butt attached to it so it is visible and the standing leg does not. Take your fingers and measure and compare each leg going from the crotch or the bottom of the butt ot the toes and they are pretty close. Thanks for your input.

Wow, got some critique on this from another site, which brought me back to this piece. I was never happy with it and I think it has improved but could use a little more work here and there. This was more difficult than it looks by a long shot!

great job on this elly! sometimes I wish there could be two first places. Congrats!
elly (Dec 15, 2007)
Gosh, I had no idea this took 2nd place! That shows ya how long I've been away.....again =( Hard to draw when you've got a sick child needing you every waking, and sleeping, hour of the day! Course then we ended up taking him to the hospital where we spent all day yesterday watching the drip, drip, drip of the IV pumping fluids in! All is well now tho.....thanks for the 2nd place!! Whooo hooo!
lori (Dec 15, 2007)

I love wolves, they're so beautiful and so is this. My fave of yours by far. Well done Elly.
STARZSHINE (Mar 9, 2008)
Elly I had a Malamute timber wolve mix. His name was Maxx, he had one brown eye and one blue eye, he was the nuttiest dog I ever owned, he thought he was a person. He would sit on our couch with his hiney on the seat and his front paws on the floor. He was that big. He wasn't as tall as a great dane, but he was really long in the torso/abdomen like timber wolves are. When he stood on his hind legs he could put his forepaws on my husband's shoulders and rest his head on my husband's. He is 5'9. When he got to be about 6 months old we were awakened at night with the most unearthly sound, it gave us the willies, and we went to see what it was. It was our Maxx learning to do his wolf howl, omg, it was so funny but really creepy at the same time, lol. He loved to howl for the ladies, for sure. We unfortunately had to give him away when we moved from out of the country because he was too big and too wild. He loved to run and he did hunt. He weighed about 150lbs. He was a big dog, but your pic reminds me so much of him, if your pic had a right blue eye. Thanks for the memories...I miss the crazy boy. He has probably passed on though. His sister was owned by my sister's inlaws they had her till she was 17. An incredible age for a dog.
