Yes. People are living on their roof tops. It's probably Bush's fault you know.
Suntan (Jan 12, 2011)
Yes, and people are in the hills and the animals are coming there. I do seem to remember him being blamed for the weather, global warming, etc. etc, etc.
Axil62 (Jan 12, 2011)
Yep and Sarah Palin caused that kid to shoot those people.
dorothyblueeyes (Jan 12, 2011)
Yeah, this is so beautiful, and it's true, she did, she hypnotized him.

I'm not trying to copy the photo exactly, just get an idea of what things are suppose to look like rather than the puffy clouds and curvy waves I normally draw.

If someone were to ever ask me to pick one color to describe myself, it would definitley be Red, hands down.
dorothyblueeyes (Dec 23, 2010)
Nice sketch; yeah, "how did we get here?why?what happened, when we were headed the other direction, but Fate had other plans??" shit. I've known so many people, who said, "Gee, I was trying to go to landscaping business school, but the family got sick, and I had to quit school, and go to work to support my brothers."So, no landscaping, this poor guy is driving a crummy cab. And i did not want to tell him, just about the same thing happened to me,and most of the people I've known.

i really love this piece...simple,but says so so much, that is what art is,the sense of a feeling when you look at the piece.

normally I use a 1px, 255 opacity, 255 flow brush with blending off an jtablet on, but I thought I'd try a bigger brush with blending on for at least part of it and opacity and flow changing throughout. This is the drawing for yesterday, because yesterday all I did was finish the drawing from the day before.

Teapot (Oct 24, 2010)
Some of you may know a Dutch artist who used the name "Inevergiveup". She died on October 21st. I will miss her. She was a lovely person. There is a quote on her funeral announcement:

One dies twice, I realize
To cease to please and be lovable
Is an unbearable death.
To cease to be alive is easy.

Voltaire

Tess loved violin concertos, this one especially.

..another look. :(
enjoydotcom (Jan 3, 2011)
What? Why, how...
Teapot (Jan 3, 2011)
Enjoydotcom, you can read about Tess' illness here, on the first picture posted . She posted a picture and a poem and explained about having Meniere's Disease. She decided to end her life at the age of 52 after suffering unimaginably for more than 10 years with it. You can also see a collection of some of her work in the Upload Studio at that site.
enjoydotcom (Jan 3, 2011)
That is just so sad... didn't know about her, but her gallery hosts some nice stuff. She left earth too soon, but I can understand her decision.

highly ethnic faces tend to have proportions different from the average ideal that people are taught to draw, and I had a hard time with the lower half of her face still not looking right in several ways.

kinda looks like one of my Athabaskan friends from Alaska. Whats the spot on her head?
tanuki (edited Dec 29, 2010)
I don't know, but it's either something cultural or it's covering something on her face. I included it because I didn't have a specific reason to omit it.
TheCrimsonKing (Jan 1, 2011)
"highly ethnic" :)
tanuki (edited Jan 2, 2011)
I'm not really sure how correct that is, and it might not be the best way to put it, but I really don't know of another way to say it. It's basically just what I was taught refers to people with highly distinct features common to a relatively isolated population. It's as opposed to homogenized faces common to americans and other populations of mixed ancestry where you can hardly tell where someone's family is from just by looking at them. My own background going back just 5 generations includes at least 5 different countries and possibly multiple continents, so no one can tell where my family is from just by looking.
