I hate the race card, and especially if someone is half and half, the black side of the card used as it's convenient. I wish we'd all throw the cards away...but, you know it won't happen.

miss DJ, I have even noticed black ladies who have beautiful skin, far more beautiful than me. I am very very white and even ruddy. And a black friend of mine was very tall, and she had the most beautiful skin, kind of light coffee and cream, and I kept thinking "how come someone like her might be more discriminated against, then me, and she's actually more beautiful!"she could replace Hallie Berry any day, although she's heavier.come to think of it, she looks a lot better than Glynith Paltrow.(maybe a lot of white people are also secretly jealous of some of these more beautiful, good-looking black people.you know, just looking very bleached out and all WHITE doesn't always look that great.)ha ha. But it's true! ;)

I see here a display of denial.. her face seems calm, she's closing her eyes and turning her back on the turmoil behind, even though it reached her, and the fire has already got to her hair (great touch btw roy).
and although it's repressed, her anxiety is clearly shown through the solid strokes, even the flames are calmer than her. It's actually a little bothering piece, with everything that is going on..
